This is pretty neat; it works fine from home?- I was hoping it would allow me to use my QRL laptop - but alas, while it displays the selected node information, pressing the "connect" button produces no obvious response. ? I believe the company proxy server blocks streaming audio and the internet gateway does not allow port pass through (other than the ones that allow you to browse the internet). ? It will play audio that is sent as a file (for example NWS weather service MP3's). ? Is there any hope for such as situation? ? Ken KE2N

Help local node control

is thare a way to control a local node from a different local node with out going in to command mode? For example if I send pl disable on 440 from on my two meater repeater to make this happen without linking the two?

OK . I am a little thick I have managed to massage my system and the portal to where I can dial in, and bring up the repeater. It plays the "incoming call on node 0701" message. Now, how do I pick up the call from the repeater side? Thanks Ken KE2N W4BRM/R - 27021

New User - Hardware Questions

Hello to all, new user to the list and new to the app_rpt. Looking at the possibility of implementing this as a replacement to our aging ACC RC-96 controller and had a few questions. We are presently 1 repeater with a remote base and autopatch (ACC and icom solution but looking at a new remote base radio either the ic-706 or ft-897 solution as the icom hardware we have now dosen't look like it will interface), what would we need to get off the ground computer hardware wise with the option to add in our 6m and 440 repeaters in the near future?, so 4 usb adapters to make it happen. Also looking at a proof of concept type thing to our memebers and I have a eee pc 900 mhz celeron system, would this be enough to run 2 usb dongles? One for a portable repeater and 1 for the remote base interface? Just trying to price things out. I've been looking at a atom fanless dual core system as the primary system if it would have enough horsepower to run the 4 usb interfaces. This looks to be a solution to my controller issue as I can customize alot of the things I wanted to do in software vs having to do it in hardware with a new controller. I figure I'll have lots more questions and such. I didn't see a real good pc hardware guide for what all would work vs not and such. Also i see the remote access app for windows, is there something similar for a windows mobile phone? Lastly is there a way to tie in a weather alert rx to send out weather notices and trigger events and such? If so this is a perfect solution for our repeater controller replacement project. Working remote base config? - IC-706MKIIG ?

Anyone have a functioning remote base rpt.config file for a IC-706MKIIG you can email me? I'm having a heck of a time getting app_rpt to work with my Icom 706 MKIIG as a remote base. The USB is working ok, but the serial commands aren't making it to the rig via the serial port. I know the serial cable is good since I used it to control the rig with Windows software in the past. I've checked the CI-V (68) is set in both the .conf as well as in the rig. Port speed in the 706 is set to 9600. Am I entering the commands via command line incorrectly? I've checked the serial ports via dmesg, etc. Even loaded another PC with a fresh install and no success yet. Do you have to have two ports? One as a repeater, one as a remote base? I'm trying to set it up as just one port as a remote base. The registration is set to "y". Maybe a real working rpt.conf for a IC-706MKIIG will help. I've googled several samples but still haven't got it to talk to the rig. Thanks in advance! Neil

node audio problems.

I am having trouble getting a system running and I need any help I can get. I just installed replaced a cat 700b controller with a URI with eeprom and app_rpt on a dell power edge 1750. I went through the audio calibration and all seemed fine. Did the radio tune save. Repeater sounds great (PL on output and everything). I left the site and get home change some ids in the rpt.conf file restart asterisk and all of the audio levels on transmit are way off. TX pl no longer decodes voices are very loud etc. I do a radio tune and see the numbers I entered are there. I do a radio tune load and it loads the data from the eeprom, still bad. I reenter the exact same levels using radio tune txvoice and txtone and it's back to normal again. I do a radio tune save to be sure. All is well until asterisk restarts and back to the beginning. I have tried 2 different URIs, same result. I have tried both the production and SVN versions of asterisk, same result. New USB cable, same result. I removed the original configs and copied the default configs from the config directory and ran nodesetup.sh, same result. HELP!!! any ideas? Thanks & 73 de Scott KB2EAR
