Regarding Dial installation..
by Loren Tedford 17 Dec '17

17 Dec '17

After spending two weeks in total off and on working on the installation of dial via the iso files provided by the allstarlink.org website wiki. I have finally gotten a clean installation in a VM.. I am posting this VM public for everyone to be able to download in the event you can't get allstarlink installed.. The password is the default usernaame: repeater password: allstarlink Just as listed in the wiki.. I also posted the iso files as well.. I still think this was a scripting issue some where and I think that we need to be much more careful in how we handle allstarlink stable distro in the future.. We need to make sure that Stable is Stable and create test versions rather than make random changes.. I am thankful and grateful for everyones help during this entire problem however if i was some one that wasn't familiar with linux i would have given up by now for sure.. Their is no excuse for failed installations with a stable iso. Below will be the links to where i have stored these for everyone's download just as a just in case basis.. Here is what i think happened.. I think that either a script was mis typed for some reason or file extensions didn't match during installation on the second boot duration as seen in my video here.. https://youtu.be/WKkEg-EEyNc It seemed to get stuck during the second boot where typically it would install allstarlink and do its thing.. I am not a huge fan of over the internet installations for the project however i understand why we have been doing it.. From time to time I think we should get together and store full iso images for installation on sites with no network or limited internet access.. Here is a link to the iso i got to work.. http://voipham.com/downloads/allstar-firmware-8.7.1-amd64-i386-netinst/ Here is a VM ready to import http://voipham.com/downloads/Debian%208.7.1-amd64-i386-VirtualBox.zip Lets hope this doesn't happen in the future.. Loren Tedford (KC9ZHV) Please lets be more careful from here on out..

Are any of the site admins on the tread? I have found multiple interested parties which have not been able to obtain a login to AllStar Link Network site or obtain additional node numbers. Did something happen to our administrators? Thanks,Darren Links in the message | | AllStar Link Network | |

Remote upgrade of asterisk 1521

Hi all I used to be able to update nodes using svn but that doesn’t work anymore, what is the correct way to perform an update on a dial system now, the one I want to update is not rat_rc1, I believe they were dial-pi v1.01. It is a raspberry pi Thanks Bryan Vo1mxz Sent from my iPhone > On Dec 13, 2017, at 10:01 PM, Bob Pyke <k6ecm1(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > This is from rpt.conf when we had phone patch... > > ;34=*618002464411# ;Bing 411 for testing > ;697=*618008256996# ;NWS Hanford Office-SKYWARN SPOTTERS ONLY > > I don’t know if *61 is stil supported. > > Thanks, > Bob > K6ECM > 73 > > >> On Dec 13, 2017, at 2:04 PM, Michael Lee Lockwood <michael(a)lockwood.us.com> wrote: >> >> I have an application where I need to have a specific phone number dialed automatically when the autopatch is activated. I have an application where I need to have a specific phone number dialed automatically when the autopatch is activated. I've Googled this but can't seem to find a working function/script/macro to do this. Or, I've completely overlooked it. Any ideas on this?

AllStarLink Wiki
by Steve Zingman 13 Dec '17

The Wiki is really coming along. we have a LONG way to go but, it's starting to fill up with information. Lots of goodies on the RTCM and the start of good documentation of the AllStarLink configuration files. One of the MANY things we we lacking is a place to post radio/repeater connection information. Tim and Bryan have added a lot of connection information for Motorola equipment. I have diagrams for Motorola, Tait and a few others. I'll be cleaning them up and posting. If you have connection information, I encourage you to get a account on the Wiki and post! If you build hardware for use with AllStarLink, this would be a good place to post connection diagrams and links! Thanks to Bryan, Tim and the RTCM team for putting together some really hard to find info all in one place! <http://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/Main_Page> 73, Steve N4IRS -- "What are HB_bridge, IPSC_bridge and Analog_bridge?"

Changing from radioless dahdi to simpleusb
by Will Bashlor 13 Dec '17

13 Dec '17

Hi all, I have an AllStar node on Raspbian Stretch installed via apt-get install. It’s been working fine with dahdi as a radioless node but now I want to test with simpleusb using a CM108 and BF888. I have everything connected and there’s a solid red light on the CM108 and it doesn’t seem to be communicating with allstar. I can see it with lsusb –t fine, see below. Also do I need to disable dahdi in modules? If I do that then I get error “No channel type registered for 'DAHDI'” and asterisk quits. Any quick pointers or advice? Thanks. pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo lsusb -t /: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=dwc_otg/1p, 480M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Audio, Driver=snd-usb-audio, 12M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 1, Class=Audio, Driver=snd-usb-audio, 12M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 2, Class=Audio, Driver=snd-usb-audio, 12M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 3, Class=Human Interface Device, Driver=usbhid, 12M pi@raspberrypi:~ $ -Will KE4IAJ

Hello from North West Indiana. I'm trying to get connected. I am using a GM300 simplex node, with a Pi3 connected to a URIx interface. In the /etc/asterisk/simpleusb file I have changed carrier from=to USB invert, and also ctcssfrom = to USB I'm getting no courtesy tone and I don't see my node green on the node list, matter of fact it's the only gray one on the list. Can anybody guide me in the right direction? Thanks Ryan KC9ZSU Sent from my iPhone
