The app_rpt-users mailing list is moving from the qrvc.com domain to my personal domain ohnosec.org. I am consolidating servers and moving the non-business sites off of the qrvc.com domain. All users currently signed up will also be signed up on the new list. All of the archives have been transferred over as well. Changing announcement from phonetic to letter

Hi I read a post on here recently that someone had modified the source code slightly to change Alison from a phonetic Echolink announcement to just the letters. I'd like to do this too and I have scanned through the source code but I am unable to spot where this is done. Could anyone give me a pointer please? Many thanks, Matt G4RKY

Anyone have Event Management Subsystem examples?

I want to customize Allstar using the Event Management Subsystem and internal variables. Does anyone have examples of what they've done? I'm looking to: 1) Setup a separate local PL / link PL scheme by using the GPIO inputs for seperate decoder logic. Only the Link PL logic would key the remote base (I'm using the OEM boards for decode). 2) Currently link audio and local repeater audio mix when received at the same time. This is by design I understand, but I want to mute the incoming remote audio when the local system is active (to prevent interrupting on ongoing local conversation while keeping the link in monitor mode). This scheme is commonly used in some large linked systems with discreet components, but I think it can be done easily in Allstar. Thanks for any suggestions! Tony

re acid install from usb drive

Hi All has anyone been able to install a node from a usb drive ? I tried to install on a new box from a external usb dvd drive. The computer would boot from the usb port ok but the install reported it couldnt find the kickstart cfg on the local cd rom but the computer doesn't have a local cd rom. I'm assuming its looking for those files from the local cd rom but not the usb drive cd rom. Perhaps the iso needs to be modified to point to the proper location of the kickstart files for usb drives? I also tried booting from a USB stick. I loaded the iso with an app called "Unetbootin". It too seemed to boot ok from usb and got to the same place with the same error looking for the kickstart.cfg. Perhaps the same problem. Anybody know how to make this work? Would be nice to be able to boot from a USB drive. Thanks, Jon VA3RQ

Weather Script

I know there is weather scripts for irlp. But I am not having any luck for allstar. I am wondering is there anyone who has one is willing to help build one. What I am looking for just a weather alert script for the severe alerts. I don’t want a full blown weather forcast. Any help appreciated KB3ORS – Brian

System Enable / Disable

Hi All; Can anyone tell me the ilink command that I need to add to rpt.conf to allow an app_rpt node to be enabled / disabled via a script? What's the difference between a disabled node versus a node that's simply killed off (if I were to shut asterisk down)? Can a disabled node still interpret DTMF commands to allow it to be re-enabled at a later time? Thx! Ramesh.

outstreamcmd format

Could someone please fill me in on the proper format for outstreamcmd. I have ezstream installed and functional, feeding an Icecast server. I assume the command goes in the node stanza. I tried outstreamcmd="/usr/bin/ezstream -c /etc/ezstream.xml" but I just get errors ERROR[1434]: app_rpt.c:5318 startoutstream: exec of /usr/bin/ezstream -c /etc/ezstream.xml failed. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Steve

Trixbox to app_rpt

Ok, I know I saw something like this in the archives, but I can't find it now (at least what I am trying to do). Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to create an extension from Trixbox to an app_rpt node? I've been fumbling around with it for days now. It should be simple. Am I over-thinking this? I have a private Trixbox PBX with a few SIP extensions set up. I want to be able to dial from one of the extensions and connect to one of my app_rpt nodes direct. I also want to be able to connect to an extension on my pbx from my radio. They are on separate boxes, right now on the same network and different ports (pbx 4569, app_rpt 4568) Is this do-able? (I don't what do hear about the legalities of this, just the how-to....thanks) Thanks! Neil
