ppp16 - kenwood- freq agile remote rig

howdy, w2dm gave me some pointers , and im running with that. but as im planning my freq agile remote. i saw these interesting lines, that we could not quite ident. 696 static char *remote_rig_kenwood="kenwood"; 697 static char * remote_rig_tm271="tm271"; 698 static char *remote_rig_tmd700="tmd700"; 699 static char *remote_rig_ic706="ic706"; 700 static char *remote_rig_xcat= "xcat"; 701 static char *remote_rig_rtx150="rtx150"; 702 static char * remote_rig_rtx450="rtx450"; 703 static char *remote_rig_ppp16="ppp16"; // parallel port programmable 16 channels "kenwood". which models? commecial models or just ham mobiles? i know what the yeasu models are and an xcat, but what is a ppp16? is that a commecial model specific 16 channel mobile? does it write to the eeprom of that radio? or does it just do memory channel up and down? "rtx150" "rtx450" - this must be ritron portable radios? does it just bump channel up and down? i was trying to find a list of the radios folks used in there freq agile remote? thanks. james kd5oxm

limey linux and parallel ports

Hello Gentlemen, I've been trying to get limey linux to work with some parallel ports. and it ain't working to what I think it should be. I'm using a Neoware CA-22 with 1GB RAM, 1GB flash and 1GHz processor. It boots and appears to run fine. I've configured it according to what K0KN and the info from ohnosec.org website. Something it not what it should be. There's always voltages on the parallel port pins I've specified in usbradio.conf. The voltage on pin 3 for ptt is at 2.4V and 4.8V on pins four and five. I have not run any commands on there to manually turn them on. When I run the command from the K0KN website to manually turn on the pin 3, the damn voltage still sits at 2.4V. When I run the command to turn it off, it still sits at 2.4V on that pin. Same thing for the other two pins. I don't understand why one of the GPIO pins sits at 2.4V and the other sit at 4.8V when the pins are set to be default off. Shouldn't the 'off' setting be zero volts, or something very close to zero? Below is what I added usbradio.conf for the parallel pins config: pp3 = ptt pp4 = out0 ;aux1 pp5 = out0 ;aux2 pp6 = out0 ;aux3 pp11 = cor Am I missing something? Something not correct? I'm rather disappointed the documentation is not very helpful in terms of what full configs should look like and the lack of references to teach new allstarlink dummies like me. ~Benjamin, KB9LFZ

app_rpt node list buffer overflow crash

I have been hearing sort-of-reports-kind-of that there are cases where if systems with enough nodes "hanging off them" attempt to connect, there is a crash. There-are-those-who-call-him-Tim? (WD6AWP) and I finally had time and the ability to reliably reproduce this crash on at least 1 installation (although not all for some reason??), and made a fix. Please download the latest version of app_rpt.c from SVN (or just update to the latest). Jim

Configuration for URIx

I am converting my IRLP node to allstar. I have tried lots of configuration, but can't get receive audio. TX Audio works just fine. My repeater has a built in controller. I want allstar to get the receive audio from the repeater and pass it to the Internet. Take the audio from the Internet and key the repeater and pass the audio. Repeater to URIx hookup. RX Audio -> URI Pin 21 TX Audio -> URI Pin 22 COR -> URI Pin 8 PTT -> URI Pin 1 Ground -> URI Pin 20 Here is what I would like it to do: 1. Do not repeat audio. 2. Use COR. No need to detect or transmit CTCSS the repeater does it very well. 3. No Repeater ID. 4. No courtesy tone. 5. No hang time. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve been using this group to help me set up an allstar node for my small club repeater. With help of a few here I’ve been able to do it ( and gain a lot of admiration from all the club members... THANK YOU! ;-))))) ) But I was thinking that just a Thnak you would not be enough. So I gave a donation (small as time are rough right now) but still I was thinking that I needed to do so.
