Private Nodes

I'm trying to understand private nodes, and building one for test. I have some questions. Once I setup a private node, can it link with an Allstar node? If so, how? If I wanted to link it to an Allstar node, would I need to make a connection in the [nodes] stanza that points to the Allstar node. Or perhaps setup a private node on a second server with an Allstar node, that can see its associated private node, then permanently link the two servers together using the two private nodes? Perhaps the broader question is what functionality can be realized with a private node other than permanently hosted to an Allstar node? Thanks, Bob kk6ecm

Those of you that received a message from wadeo(a)charter.net Do not open the link within. The site may be hacked as advised by google. As far as I know, hyperlinks do not pass when posting them in a message here so you should always be weary of clicking on one that looks like it's from the list. This is what happens when your computer gets malware/virus... ...emailing links to spread from those in your address book. So the owner of that email address needs to look for malware. ACID USB Error

The ACID build on one of our repeaters crashes occasionally after repeatedly recording "Cannot submit data pipe for urb 0, error -22: internal error" I've been unsuccessful at locating details of this error online. Is there a list of such errors available? I'm running two nodes on the server. I've had issues when rebooting where one node operates normally, and the other delivers choppy audio to the radio. The URI green light toggles much slower than normal. I may have an internal USB hardware issue. They are both on the same internal bus, and both radios are in use, one a repeater using a GE MSTR II, and the second is used as a UHF link. The computer is a ATOM Mini-ITX with a SATA SSD. Once they are working after a reboot, they go for quite a while. This last failure occurred after a "reboot" command. I read somewhere that a similar error was caused by a known CentOS bug, so I'm wondering if I need to move to DIAL to get a "fix," but would like to understand it better before just moving. I don't like lurking issues :-) It operated flawlessly for about two years prior to this. This is the second time in the past month, or so, that we've dealt with this. Any thoughts? Thru Hole Voter Board Firmware Update Procedure

Hello All, I have three thru hole voter boards with firmware from 2012, l am wondering if anyone has a procedure on how to update the firmware? Also, I see in the svn there is a Simulcast portion, and I do have two of them setup as a simulcast, is there something different with the firmware for simulcast operation? Monty

Noob problems with DIAL installation

I am new to Linux after about 20 yrs away from programming on it. I installed the image cleanly and was able to logon and change the password, set a new hostname, and a static IP to match port forwarding on my firewall. I then get prompted to enter my Allstar id and password...that's the point I cannot get past. I am registered and online on the website fine, my node shows up in a greyed out box in the all nodes list. But on the DIAL install, I enter my id and password ankeep getting prompter to reenter the password over & over until it fails. I have tried using my website ID and password combo, the node and website password combo, the node and pin combo, nothing works and it is the same, the system reprompts for the password adinifnitum. I have reinstall the DIAL at least 10 times so far and reached a level of frustration as to where to go next...help! Thank you Greg

Help With Windows IAXRpt No Audio

Gang... I have iaxRpt installed on my laptop. I use it to monitor the WIN system (I know... I know....). But for some reason, I have NO receive audio. The green RX audio bar moves but no audio. Can anyone help me add another system so can test with you? Any ideas on why I have no audio? Thanks! 73 Jim W7RY
