Local monitor speaker for the RPi2

Since I put up the information to add chan_alsaradio to be used as a local speaker for the RPI2 I have been asked if there is a simpler way to achieve a local monitor speaker. After thinking about it for a while I came up with the following: Do we really need to add alsa just for a speaker? Do we need to add a channel driver from a outside source? What else can we do? We are already using oss for audio on Asterisk. Asterisk has a stock channel driver called chan_oss. It can be used as a simple way to listen to the node on a external speaker. This does not require much other then a way to adjust the speaker level. ACID Install scripts. Help

Hi All I am trying to install ACID Installer onto an ALIX-800 card this needs a CF Card install I can build a Centos 5.7 onto the CF Card but cant figure out how to install asterisk allstar from that point on Does anyone have a copy of the actual install scripts that are embed into the ACID CD I have looked but there are no scripts every things seems to be en-nested in many .img files that are loaded in phases eg boot phase phase 1 phase 2 etc any ideas or help? Hf remote base

I was reading about hf remote bases on the internet. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on it. I did see the thr IC-706 and FT-897 are supported. I have the 897 and it really doesn't get much use. I think this would be a great way to get more use out of it. Does anyone on this list currently do this? How do you control the squelch? Echolink Configuration Changes Not 'Sticking' on Allstar Portal

I've been attempting to change Echolink access from one of my servers to another. Each time I do, it returns to the previous value. I've tried with both Chrome and Firefox Browsers. Logged in to the Allstar Portal Selected Server, Server Configuration (selected my RaspberryPi2 server) Selected Echolink Settings Selected Echolink Node Number (41398) Selected the Dropdown for Allstar Node Number (27911) When I go back and check, Allstar Node Number is assigned to node 2347, not 27911. Have I missed a step along the way (or maybe two)? John WB5NFC

Tim, That may well stop local telemetry, but I believe that the question is to stop it (the query responce) from propagating to connected systems. I don't think there is a way to do that. It is in the IAX stream of connected stations. It is up to the local node owner to limit playback of what telemetry is played on their local node from what is propagated across the connected network. You can only set your node. If I am wrong on this, please, someone chime in because that is my understanding of it. And based on how I have played with it, it works that way. I don't know if you can query your system on a command line for connected systems "without triggering the same". Perhaps you can. If you can, then you have the ability to email/text that to the outside. So if you can query on a command line without propagating the info, you might be able to script it and give that a command for "local playback only" by just reading the text piped output or just count how many stations are connected (statistics) etc. I don't run/query my nodes from a command line much, just the OS. So I am not aware of the differences "if any". This question has come up many times before. Not sure if anyone has had a work around. It would seem to me that there should be a work around because allmon can get a list without triggering list query propagation. good morning , DMK URiX interface loss of connectivity

I have havd several all star nodes up and running using the DMK URIx interfaces each connected to thier own BeagleBone Black. Normally I see the green light on the URIx blinking at me. In the past few months I have seen where the light stops blinking. some times pulling the USB for 10 seconds and plugging it back in solves the problem. worse case a full reboot of the system. . now its only getting worse instead of better. and almost daily issue.
