what Firewall apps needed?

After discovering there is no pop-up window during CENT-OS installation to allow selection of a fixed IP address (it installs then looks for DHCP, which isn't there so the installation check crashes, I found I can make a Firewall perform DHCP as it also acts as a router. And I have a licensed FW available so now the person who is setting up the Firewall box asked me a few questions.Keep in mind this is way out of my field of experience! But I need a list of apps that need permission to pass thru the FW. I saw SSH in a non-std software port, SIP (session initiation protocol) What else - any Gurus out there that have btdt?TIA, Reid W6MTF

Data Center Asterisk server crashes randomly

Hey I have been experiancing a random crash every once in awhile with my data center hub I check var/logs/messages and this is the info i get.. The crash happened around 5am I later put the server online at 12:17pm.. By the way i fixed the speexs messages i just took them out of my iax.conf file but not sure what to think on the whole echolink issue.. Is there a way to convert digital to analog?

Lets say some one uses my analog repeater in digital mode is there a way to convert that to analog so that the digital does not go out over the air also I was wondering if it was possible to block such transmissions make asterisk ignore digital type audio.. Pickle - xM - MAC Address Reboot Issue

Hello All, For those of you running Pickle - I know you are aware of this issue - the ethernet is done through USB and the xM get a new MAC address when it reboots. I force my routers ARP cache to update - that is my solution - but, I was wondering what everyone else does. It had me going for a while until I noticed the stale entries in the router's ARP cache. 73's, John AJ6BC

Beagle Board-xM Pickle Build w/URI

Hello All, I have an xM up and running with the latest build from allstarlink.org - is there one site that has example configs for iax.conf, rpt.conf, and simpleusb.conf for the xM using the URI? I currently have some radios from Yaesu - the VX-7R has been interfaced and seems to work; but my current configs are relatively simple. I also want to put a FT-7900R on line. How do you eliminate the telemetry 'node xx connected, node xx disconnected' messages from being broadcast? 73's, John AJ6BC

If I set it to "pp2 = out0" in simpleusb.conf the LED is not lit. If I change it to "pp2 = out1" the LED is lit so I know the port is working.
