I've done some reading and came across allmon2 and supermon where supermon seems to be the better option but I can't locate source information on implementing it. Is supermon only designed to work with hamvoip? If not where can I get the install information?

AllStarLink for the BeagleBoard-xM

When the first versions of AllStarLink on Debian were created, one existing version was left out. That version was for the BeagleBoard-xM. The BBxM has a daughter board called the LOX for I/O to 2 radios. In my conversations with Jim, he really liked the Beagle and LOX combination. Or was it bagels and lox? I was never quite sure. Jim wanted me to make sure I continued to support the BBxM/LOX. We had existing users and they should not be left out in the cold. I agreed. I had problems making it work the way we wanted it, so it got shelved. I did not want to forget, so it I kept it very visible on the shelf. I could not help but see it. Something of a thorn in my side. I do not know how many users are out there. I do not know if the BBxM is still available. I do not know if DMK is still selling LOX board. But, a promise is a promise so here we go. I have built a proof of concept image for the BBxM. The image is built with Debian Stretch. The image requires a 8GB or larger SD card (for now) The login is repeater The password is allstarlink These are the things I still need to do: Build the image with apt-get install rather then building from source. You will then be able to do a apt-get upgrade and get the most current AllStarLink programs and upgraded Debian Stretch programs. Shrink the image so it will copy to a smaller SD card and then fill the root partition to fit the available space on the card. Regenerate the ssh keys on first boot. Set the user repeater to allow login with the password of allstarlink the first time then force setting a new password. Tweak the beagle.conf settings so a first time user (are there any?) will be able to make carrier access work and not get bit by the CTCSS setting. RTCM drop out and PTT stuck, GPS lock

One of my VOTER boards has decided to drop out of GPS lock when the transmitter is keyed up. Has been working fine for months. The GPS antenna is a magnetic "puck" on the shed feeding a BG7TBL GPS. I've had one of these antennas die in the shack completely - plug it in and the GPS never gets lock. The UHF repeater antenna is about 30 feet vertically above it and I've never had an issue. Same GPS antenna on another site and that is only about 3 feet away from the TX antenna, but no issues there. Perhaps it's water problems? The second problem - perhaps coincidence, is that at least one of my transmitters lock on transmit. I did see this once on the bench but it never happened again. There was no input signal, and you could talk over the top of it. It never times out, and the RTCM board indicates PTT as 1. A reboot fixes the issue. Anyone know the causes of such problems? I just checked my log and I have had the Voter lost master timing source message 14 times since November 16. A few times have been in quick succession. I run just the one RTCM for both the radio and the master timing source on the network. I haven't had any out of bounds issues though since moving my system to the mountains, it's been working flawlessly. I'm using a Mikrotik RB2011UiAS router. I have my Pi (asterisk host) set on Auto negotiation and it's connected at 100mbps full duplex. The RTCM/VOTER board I've switched off auto negotiation and have it at 10mbps and half duplex.

Adding echolink to Dial

All, I am trying to add echolink to my ASL install (Dial). I read the ASL FAQ's and added the echolink.conf. I also made sure the ports are open as well. Is there anything else I need to do besides adding echolink.conf in the /etc/asterisk directory? Is there anything else I need to do? New DIAL Install No RX or TX Audio from URI

I had my node working under ACID till a hard drive decided to crash on me. I did the re-install with the 32 bit DIAL install. Everything about the node appears to function properly but from asterisk to my URI I get ZERO audio in or out. It's the only audio adapter, and the URIDIAG with the loopback plug tests fine. It will activate the TX and I get the blinking green led but no audio in or out. Is there somewhere I can look to troubleshoot this issue? The motherboard is an older atom 330 board. Should I fall back to the older ACID install for this node which had worked. Thanks for any guidance that you can provide.Keith Dobbins N8KLD

24/7 Echolink Connection Dropping Audio

Hello all, We have an AllStar node setup using a Pi 3, DMK URI, and a Yaesu 7800. It’s AllStar Node 46648 and it’s connected to 3004544 (echolink) 24/7. It works fine most of the time, but intermittently the audio quits working in the Internet to node/radio direction. It shows up on allmon2 and echolink as connected and if you talk RF everyone on the echolink network can hear you, but when they talk back no audio comes through to 46648 or to the Yaesu that’s connected to it and it doesn’t turn green on allmon2. If I disconnect the echolink node and connect it again it fixes the no audio until it happens again. I’ve tried with a normal connect and a permanent connect and the same thing happens using both. It may be 30 minutes or 3 days before it happens again. I wouldn’t mind it disconnecting every now and then because I have a script running (also tested without the script running) that automatically connects it back, but I have no way to detect when the audio drops except listening to it on echolink and my node at the same time. I am using a Ubiquiti Edge X router and have 4569, 5198, and 5199 UDP forwarded correctly (I’m a network guy). I’ve checked the asterisk log but it’s so full of brute force attacks I can’t really find any clue of what’s going on. I am wide open for suggestions.
