Speed Tests via command line

Hello I just realized that the speed test script i use has been changed up a little bit I figured I would post the new information on how to test your speed test via command line.. Here is where i posted the article I hope this helps ya all out! http://forum.voipham.com/index.php/topic,42.0.html Hello recently their has been some changes to a program i use to test out speed test related issues I decided to post the new information and code here to help others.. First off I create a script: Code: [Select] nano speedtestsetup.sh Inside speedtestsetup.sh I put the following information: Code: [Select] #!/bin/bash wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py --no-check-certificate chmod a+rx speedtest.py mv speedtest.py /usr/local/bin/ chown root:root /usr/local/bin/speedtest.py /usr/local/bin/speedtest.py To run the speed test I create another script called speedtest.sh Example Code: [Select] nano speedtest.shInside that script is the following information. Code: [Select] /usr/local/bin/speedtest.py I hope this helps out some one else like it has helped me.. Good luck and remember speed test is not everything you really should do a MTR report to different points around the country to look for packet loss and other issues that can occur.. I'm not sure, I believe we've tried it with a semi-busy node and had the same issue. Curiously, he can make a call across a trunk to my Asterisk box, and we can both mute our phones and it won't drop after an hour. I'd never heard of VAD, but will look into it. app_rpt issue with Polycom VVX phone

Hi everyone, I'm trying to help a friend troubleshoot an issue with his Polycom IP phones. He is trying to use a Polycom VVX500 to monitor his Allstar nodes, but the phone hangs itself up after 30 seconds. We've tried all sorts of things to cure the issue. It doesn't occur when using Cisco or Aastra phones, or any softphone we've tried. Just these Polycoms. Calls from phone to phone don't auto-disconnect either, this only happens when the phone is used to call *any* Allstar node. Any suggestions? Thanks. 73 Kyle K0KN

Iaxrpt does not have a time out. However if your Internet drops for a split second it will. However, in the preferences is a permalink option. Assign your node numbers there in the order you wish them to connect. Restart iaxrpt and they will auto connect on startup. My stats are no longer being uploaded and need some direction on how to troubleshoot the issue. I checked my rpt.conf and the two "statpost" lines have not changed. I confirmed all is well when I checked " iax2 show registry" The server is an ACID system and the two node numbers are 29115 & 29847. Thanks for your help, Corey
