Audio popping

I have a 6m mastr ii at my office which is a low RF site. I had this poping sound like audio cables being connected into a live audio source. I guessed/summarized that RF was getting into things. I installed ferrites at the input and output of the DMK URI and I also bonded the PC cabinet to the ground of the repeater chassis. The problem was fixed. I have a two repeater site with one desktop pc controlling a 6m mastr ii and a 2m msr2000 and I was hearing the same thing. This is at a high RF site. I took the same approach and the problem is reduced, but not eliminated. Does anyone have any suggestions as to getting a better reduction. I'm figuring if I'm on the right path if what I've currently done has made an improvement. I was wondering if I put the URI into a sealed metal box if that would do anything. Node 29925 is my local repeater it setup with a permanent link to node 41715 because we dont have enough bandwidth to handle much traffic out at the repeater site.. here is what /var/log/asterisk/messages says.. Remote Base Timeout

I have a 2M remote base (TM-271) running on a node here. How can I change the activity timeout? There have been several instances where I have been actively using the node and I get an activity timeout message. First it will announce timeout in 180 seconds. If I do anything like change power level, frequency, etc, it then announces activity timeout in 3597 seconds, then about 15 seconds later announces activity timeout in 3604 seconds and continues to announce activity timeout every 30 seconds or so. Disconnecting and reconnecting is the only way to stop the countdown. Thanks Jamey WR4JW

DIAL distro now available for RPi2

The DIAL distro for Allstar is now available for the Raspberry Pi 2 at: http://dl.allstarlink.org/dial/rpi2_dial.img It has basically the same contents as the x86 DIAL distro, but runs on an RPi2. It is approx 2GB in size, and will function on any SD card 2GB or larger (for larger cards, an option is provided for expanding the root partition to the full size of the card). Jim, WB6NIL

Can someone give me a hand and try to connect to me at #41477 I need to verify that I can get an incoming connect from outside the boundaries of my ISP. I am having issues receiving incoming connects. This system has been known good & up and running for months, but in last two weeks I have incoming connect issues. I suspect that my ISP has closed these ports. They are forwarded and installed correctly on my router, Thank You, If you can not connect to me on allstar node 41477 then please try EchoLink # 4123 which is working and known good. -Dan KM6HK

IaxRpt and Wine

Anyone having issues with IaxRpt running under Wine? Had been running fine on Mint 17 and wine 1.6. but it quit several weeks ago. It does something very strange. Receive works fine and the first time you press PTT everything is fine, but the next time the PTT lights up red but transmitter does not key and no audio shows on vu meter. It does the same thing with different nodes. Found out another guy running Mint has the same problem. Tried Wine 1.7 but no change. I have OpenSuse Leap42 running as a VM with Wine 1.7 and it seems to work fine. Any ideas gurus? Ed W8VT
