Good thought, although I am using rxondelay. I discovered the burst is just inherent of a simplex node. Just a note, I configured the BBB for usbradio and enabled the rxsquelchdelay with success, however the audio produced a pulsing attribute. A tradeoff, so I'm back to simpleusb. Next I plan to try an audio delay board. Over kill but it's all in the spirit of ham radio... I have a private node with 6 voted receivers usng RTCMs. I'd like to add a 7th RTCM to this node that is always mixed in rather than voted. I'm able to make this rtcm work as a 7th voted rceive with no problem. Everything Ive read seems to indicate that if I change Gps pps polarity to "none" this will achieve my desired results, however I am unable to get audio out of my transmit rtcm from thiis 7th site. It does change color to cyan in Allmon indicating it is non voted input but I do not get any indication or audio when that units COR goes active. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks, Tom

Chuck, Actually, BBB for $55, uSD 16GB for $8 and USB FOB (modified) for $12 is well under $100 for a very good node. Tom / K5TRA

Email asterisk

I use K0kn email scripts with Gmail. Things will chug along fine for a few days and then google locks me out and I have to log in via a Web browser and type in the goofy letters to get things happy. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Or better yet what I'm doing wrong.

Multiple nodes

So as it stands I have a one node system. I have another URI on the way and will have BBB soon. The eventual plan is to have a few repeaters and some simplex nodes at people's houses for RF hot spot access. What is the best way to tie these together? I understand you can set permanent links that will reestablish connection if lost. Is there other ways of accomplishing this? I only ask because I have my one node setup with email, autopatch and all other kinds of bells and whistles. I'd like to be able to do all of this from other RF locations and I wonder if I need to just set each node up accordingly or can one node be the workhorse and the other nodes just be dumb connections. Did I make any sense with that question?

Fwd: COR signal getting confused

Resending since my initial post has been pending moderation for 2 days now and got no reply from the list owner email. I have modified an HT to bring out the receive LED signal and use it as the COR input to a DMK URI. It is a digital signal as viewed on a scope (i.e. very short slope in the transitions) This seems like it would work well and it does on strong signals. But on marginal signals where the LED may blink on and off quickly (like during picket fencing), it seems to confuse the URI (or the software) were it will start off good, but then a quick dropout of the COR signal will cause the software to no longer detect carrier, even though the signal on the COR input has been restored. Even if the input is solid high (or low in my case, I'm using usbinvert) it will not detect a carrier until there is another dropout of adequate time to "reset" it. I've tried putting a simple RC on the input but it didn't really help much. Seems the URI (or software) needs a significant minimum time between transitions to properly detect them, long enough that it would delay the carrier detection too much without a circuit more complex than an RC (i.e. something that would allow instant keyup, but delay the key down.) Ch A is my RC filtered signal sent to the URI, Ch B is the signal out of the radio. Carrier was not detected after the 5th dropout even though the signal remained low. I thought I heard "node 26070 connected to node 28765" this morning about 0630, then again when disconnected a few moments later (the latter node being mine, and I had gotten out of CLI> last night, not recording the connection). When I attempted to look up node 26070 I found no nodes between the 2xxx series and 27000. Don't think I was dreaming... but what happened to the nodes in between?
