Allmon Version 2 Released
by Tim Sawyer 23 Apr '14

23 Apr '14

The first thing you should know is that Allmon 2 will NOT work with Internet Explorer. Every other modern browser on earth works fine but for some reason Microsoft is not on the HTML 5 SSE bandwagon. Keep the old version if you need IE support. The old version is still on Github. Many changes in this version (see the README). Main change is it’s faster and puts less load on your server and on Asterisk. Also, clicking on the links (ie the old X for disconnect, etc) actually work the first time you click them… imagine that! Here the link https://github.com/tsawyer/allmon/tree/allmon2 Enjoy, -- Tim :wq

RTCM board assembling. Problems
by Mihhail Jakovlev 23 Apr '14

23 Apr '14

Hi all, I have 4 RTCM boards assembled, but only one fully working :) Could any help with finding faults in other boards? I have test node 2300 configured and SIP phone for connecting with test node. Board2: Not work audio from receiver to server (to phone). From phone to radio is ok. In offline mode audio from receiver to transmitter is ok. Radio unkey courtesy tone in phone is ok. What is faulty? In offline mode audio comes from receiver to CPU, and from CPU to transmitter. If offline mode working, audio parts is ok. Board3: cannot write own parameters to eprom. All changes in console menu erased after repowering. Eprom ic 25080 replaced, not result. Voltages and waveforms on eprom ic pins same as in board2. Board4: If power up, green status led flash twice, console show text menu, after this starts red tx led for 1s and board restarts. Ideas? Thanks! Regards, Mihhail Jakovlev

Added a second node to my server Status problem
by W2YMM 23 Apr '14

23 Apr '14

Hi, I have a second node I connected to my server today. My original node was 28183 and all was working fine. I added 29973 today. Both nodes are using URI Interfaces. I seem to have lost my ONLINE Status on the http://stats.allstarlink.org/ webpage for my First Node. (28183) 29973 seems to be ok. http://stats.allstarlink.org/nodeinfo.cgi?node=29973 I get the Node is no longer in the database message at http://stats.allstarlink.org/nodeinfo.cgi?node=28183 although I do show up GREEN on https://allstarlink.org/nodelist.php The only thing I did was add the second node to my server, and edit the extensions.conf, iax.conf, rpt.conf, usbradio.conf files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The nodes appear to be working correctly, just 28183 no longer showing up on the status page. I posted this earlier but did not get a response. Can anyone tell me if a MAC Mini can be used to make an AllStar server? Thank you, Chris K7AZ

Connect Doug Hall RBI-1 to URIx
by Michael Wolthuis 22 Apr '14

22 Apr '14

Does anyone have info on how to control the Doug Hall RBI-1 from a URIx without the need to use the parallel port on the computer? Possibly there existed an interface at one time to do this? What is the recommended method of doing so for remote base? Trying to stay away from needing a parallel port also if possible. There used to be a page on the drupal site, but I can¹t locate it. Re: [App_rpt-users] RTCM squelch tail elimination?
by David McGough 21 Apr '14

Hi Sam, I forwarded your reply to the list. Yes, I agree that obtaining discriminator (flat) audio one way or another and then using software squelch is the best solution. 73, David KB4FXC On Sun, 20 Apr 2014, Sam Skolfield wrote: > FYI as a proud owner of a voted VHF repeater based on the RTCMS, they have > excellent squelch action, and most of the time you can't even hear the > slightest bit of a squelch tail at all! RTCM squelch tail elimination?
by Sam Nabkey 21 Apr '14

21 Apr '14

Hello all... I have replaced a repeater controller with a RTCM and a server. All is well but for a heavy squelch tail after carrier drop. I am using the unit in simple mode because I do not have an active discriminator output because I am using the RTCM behind a Doug Hall voter. I have Googled the subject to death and I see plenty of mentioned items regarding simpleusb and usb settings but nothing on voter configuration. Am I missing something someplace? Thanks in advance for all the information. You all are some of the smartest folks I know. Sam K8SN

No audio from URIx
by Willem Schreuder 21 Apr '14

21 Apr '14

I have built my third AllStar node using a URIx, but cannot get Tx audio out to work. The node receives audio perflectly, and keys the radio using the PTT line, but there is no audio either from asterisk (e.g. the time announcement) or the "flash" in radio-tune-menu. Adjusting the Tx levels and boost has no effect. I have swapped URIx, cable and radio with a working node, so I have eliminated a bad URIx, cable or radio as a possibility. I have also eliminated a bad node configuration by applying a known good node configuration to the computer (which results in no Tx audio) and using the configuration of this node to a different computer (which works fine). The problem therefore seems to be motherboard related. I have tried two different motherboards: ECS NM70-I Celeron 1037 Mini ITX GIGABYTE GA-C1007UN-D Celeron 1007U Mini ITX Both exhibit the exact same symptom: No Tx audio. The do share the Intel NM70 chipset. Disabling or enabling the on board audio seems to have no effect. lsusb shows only the URIx (C-Media Electronics, Inc) and the Intel USB hub (Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub). Is this a problem folks have previously encountered, or have any suggestions what else I can try?
