app_rpt node list buffer overflow crash

I have been hearing sort-of-reports-kind-of that there are cases where if systems with enough nodes "hanging off them" attempt to connect, there is a crash. There-are-those-who-call-him-Tim? (WD6AWP) and I finally had time and the ability to reliably reproduce this crash on at least 1 installation (although not all for some reason??), and made a fix. Please download the latest version of app_rpt.c from SVN (or just update to the latest). Jim

Configuration for URIx

I am converting my IRLP node to allstar. I have tried lots of configuration, but can't get receive audio. TX Audio works just fine. My repeater has a built in controller. I want allstar to get the receive audio from the repeater and pass it to the Internet. Take the audio from the Internet and key the repeater and pass the audio. Repeater to URIx hookup. RX Audio -> URI Pin 21 TX Audio -> URI Pin 22 COR -> URI Pin 8 PTT -> URI Pin 1 Ground -> URI Pin 20 Here is what I would like it to do: 1. Do not repeat audio. 2. Use COR. No need to detect or transmit CTCSS the repeater does it very well. 3. No Repeater ID. 4. No courtesy tone. 5. No hang time. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve been using this group to help me set up an allstar node for my small club repeater. With help of a few here I’ve been able to do it ( and gain a lot of admiration from all the club members... Hi Tim, As you can see I bascially put everything that I had on the git hub!!! Arch Linux can be tricky as its in a constant state of flux. I have assumed a certain level of developer understanding but will produce a live cd when I get some time. Before you compile, make sure you do a pacman -Syy followed by pacman -Su when its finished. Check by rebooting with no errors.. The allstar compile process I roughly follow from memory is ; I can document this properly if required... 1. Load the dependencies via the pacman -S. I have updated the github README with the ones I use.. They may be some extras in there as well...:-) 2. First Install the ztdummy kernel driver. Go to the <your root>/allstar/ast-1.4.23-pre/trunk/zaptel dir in the asterisk dir and run configure. Then run make and make install. If you get complaints about the kernel source not being avaiable make sure you "pacmaned" the kernel headers.. and done the pacman -Syy and -Su process 3. Reboot and do modprobe ztdummy. Check for zaptel /dev/zap devices.. If not there look for zaptel.rules in udev dirs. 4. Then look in main allstar dir ( <your root>/allstar/ast-1.4.23-pre/trunk/) readme and run make install_usbradio .You will get errors at the end due to flash card stuff but ignore these... 5. Then you should have a compiled allstar system. 6. Check asterisk will run by running asterisk -vvvc. You will get lots of not found errros but if it runs and stops its ok. At least it is now compiled. 7. Add your allstar config files to the </etc/asterisk/> dir and then restart as above... This is what i do when I am playing around with allstar... I've built a new Mini-PC for my re-worked W3RWN node. Thanks to those on list that let me know about their experiences with this Motherboard a week or so ago. thought I share a bit about what I've done, and perhaps others benefit. Pictures are here: https://plus.google.com/photos/107092571183905036843/albums/583531876330577… This is an entirely 12VDC powered motherboard, with a newer SSD technology called MSATA which results in the SSD being a module on the motherboard. This is very neat because there are no inverters, or additional power supplies needed to run this PC from the same 12 VDC power supply as the repeater. I was concerned that a Dual Core Atom might not be enough, but it seems to work just fine for my node using a URI to control a 70cm repeater. I installed ACID_CENTOS, and it installed clean with no futzing around. No asterisk reboot cycles, all clean. Running TOP shows Asterisk taking about 10% to 12% of the CPU, and minimal other load on the system. Set for 10% to 100% fan range in BIOS. (Got the fan from Amazon) 17mm x 17mm adhesive heat sink - Digikey ATS-52170G-C2-RO stuck this on the Intel PCH chip (Northbridge) which was very hot to the touch.
