[App_rpt] Voting receivers

While working with the weather receiver, I just thought about voting receivers. Is there any logic with app_rpt to define fobs as separate receivers not having to "link" them in. The fob I am using is hooked to a receiver only. Is there any way this can be done with making the controller go into "linked" state, when really its not linked to any external nodes. It is just connected local ones, that are never dropped. that is partially OK, but when you use the courtesy tones to determine linked/unlinked state they are useless because it considers itself linked, when its not really linked to any external nodes. That also bring up "leaked" audio. If I am linked to another system, my local weather receiver audio will leak out when it should stay local. How can I stop that? That brings me to project #3 Voting separate fobs: I am planning on adding in a separate rf linked receiver. Is there a way to define a fob as a "receiver" and another as a "transmitter". Also is there any voting based on S/N possible? I want to do everything with asterisk, not external voters. [App_rpt] Ider, ID's leaking over all*link

I have a couple issues I'm trying to work out. Any input appreciated. I have noticed that when I do a "rpt fun xxxx *xxxx" that dials something from the asterisk dial plan say "rpt fun 2090 *694" ( Plays back a recorded message, then hangs up). The ID that should follow never happens after that command. If I trigger them by macro, shell commands, or by console, the ID is not getting tripped. It just stays in the "CLEAN" state. Same thing is happening for iaxrpt remote connections. I "kerchunk" the repeater from the remote, no ID. Same for remote issued dtmf commands. Is there a setting I need to make to enforce the ID rules. I have set in /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf : [2090] idtime=570000 ; id interval time (in ms) politeid=30000 idrecording=rpt/w9drr-q idtalkover=|iw9drr/r tailmessagetime=1200000 tailsquashedtime=30000 tailmessagelist=rpt/w9drr-m [functions] 80=status,11 Also, same ID issue happens when linked with my local node 8888 (Self muting, s.a.m.e. decoding Wx receiver). The WX radio trips, audio airs. repeater carrier drops, no id after. Along those same lines, my *695 "custom ID" leaks out when linked. Should auto patch calls be local only, or is there a option to make them stay local? I think its still technically illegal to use a remote/linked autopatch since that is toll avoidance, if the actual user is not in the geographical area ..... rules suck. Now with advent of VOIP who really cares? Maybe I'm doing things backasswords. I am trying to setup occasional alternate ID's. The main id is very short. Alt-ID has our club affiliation mentioned. Its not really considered a "Tail Message". I'm trying to duplicate a NHRC-2 function. After first keyup play ID1, every X mintes play ID2. If after X minutes of inactivity play ID2 then go to sleep. Next keyup starts over loop. hmmm. now that I think about it as I'm proofing this email, I'm not sure I am getting any ID's or tail messages. I know if I issue a *80(status,11) it does playback the ID. if I keyup during playback, I do get the IDtalkover morse ID. As most of you already know, the stats.allstarlink.org site has been down for about 2 days, because the hoster it was on just shut it off claiming that we were using too much CPU. after much irritation with the hoster that it was on, we decided to move it to another host (thanks to dave, KE6UPI). Did anyone say that I HATE PHP!!! After 2 days of much frustration, its back and working again. Jim, WB6NIL P.S. In case anyone was unsure, I HATE PHP!!!

[App_rpt] Kenwood TM-271

Hello Group: Anybody out there interfaced a TM-271 (or 471) as a remote base with app_rpt? I had hoped that modern Kenwood mobile radios would share a common programming protocol. The app_rpt mentions the TM-G707 as an example of a radio that can be used with the rpt.conf option 'remote=kenwood'. However, it does not work for me using the TM-271. I built up a RS-232 to TTL interface which works fine with the Kenwood programming software but not with app_rpt. Recalling a memory channel or setting a VFO frequency results in an 'invalid frequency' callout from Asterisk. Looking through the app_rpt source function 'setkenwood', I see the string 'VMC 0,0' is sent to the radio initially. When I monitor the serial data from Asterisk to the radio, this string is sent but the radio's response is '?' (0x3F). One suspects this isn't the right answer. Does anyone have experience or suggestions with the TM-217 on app_rpt? 73, Dave VE7MQ.

The way to figure this out is to sample the audio through the USB adapter into a utility like Audacity and use its FFT to see what the noise spectrum looks like. Hi there… We purchased a few of the DMK USB FOBs awhile back after homebrewing a few. When I was down in Virginia at company HQ last month, I spent a few nights trying to make this work to no avail. We have an old IFR service monitor which I was using to generate tones and such. We’re using an Icom commercial repeater IC-FR3000/4000. The Icom has no internal controls for rx or txaudio that I can find (documentation is very slim). Basically, rxtune doesn't want to work with the audio coming off the Icom repeater discriminator. I did not try deemphasized audio as I want to keep everything flat. In looking through some of the old posts we are seeing similar results whereby rxtune doesn’t see anything. But oddly enough, if I used the HT to generate DTMF tones, the * box would detect them. The transmitted audio I could not get more than 2 or 2.5 kHz deviation with the audio coming out of the * box. The way to figure this out is to sample the audio through the USB adapter into a utility like Audacity and use its FFT to see what the noise spectrum looks like. I'd be glad to help you do this by logging in, capturing the signal and transfering to my lab for analysis. I can take the results and come up with a configuration setting that will work for you. My boss is out of town until Wednesday next week and I’m trying to get the logon info for you. I think the repeater is turned off so we’ll have to get it turned on if we do this before he gets back. I did hook up the COS line from the Icom as well. I didn’t have a scope with me when I was down there a few weeks ago. Next time I go down I’ll have to see if I can find it (it was in storage I think last I knew). Will keep you posted.
