I got a call from Mark Barry who produces the EasyVoxBox package. Mark tells me that he had to move his site on short notice and it will be down for a couple of days. [App_rpt] happy version of app_rpt

Well I made a promise that the first second there may be a stable version available, Id let all of you know. I dont have one that I could really commit to being stable, but I do have one which looks like a good candidate. Check out the source of app_rpt from the latest version on the xelatec.com SVN server. If its still unstable, sorry, this is still in testing. It looks good so far though. JIM WB6NIL

[App_rpt] Effective bug reporting guidelines

Message to all users: One or two sentences describing a bug is of little to no help. When reporting a bug, please include as much data about it as you can including but not limited to: 1. Hardware configuration used. 2. A complete detailed description of your issue. Including the a sequence of events leading up to the issue. 3. Whether it is 100% repeatable or not. 4. Linux distribution and version 5. Version of asterisk. 6. Version of app_rpt.c 7. Outputs of log files or asterisk CLI console with verbose and debug options enabled. There are two commands available from the CLI "rpt set debug level X" and "core set verbose X" where 'X' is a number from 0-7. Try enabling these two debug aids to see if any clues emerge on the console. Be prepared to temporarily grant SSH root user access to your system in some cases. Finally, please limit your posts to one bug/issue per post. We will be setting up a formal bug reporting system using Mantis in the near future. Steve.

I hate to say it, but when I added the VOX functionality to the autopatch, I inadvertently broke the path that was required to have locally-generated call progress tones end up on the air. Thanks Roger. By the way, the problem isn't limited only to SIP. I put some extension logic in my radio asterisk server to dial an extension on my phone asterisk server from the radio asterisk server via IAX, and I get no ringing sound either. This is either an Asterisk bug or an App_rpt bug, This is something which has been broken as it used to work. I will have to discuss this with Jim Dixon. Steve WA6ZFT Roger F. 1. Have you tried inserting the ringing app in extensions.conf for the SIP extension? The SIP extension may not be indicating ringing to the channel used by app_rpt for the autopatch. 2. There is not be enough information here to suggest a solution. Are the repeater and simplex nodes on the same machine? Are they both USB fobs? What version of app_rpt is being run on both nodes? When in transceive, what does the CLI command rpt stats XXXX print when XXXX is the node number of the simplex node on the machine running the simplex node? Roger F. [App_rpt] The wiring of the URI to a FT857D

Does anyone have an idea as to how to get the reverse patch to give a caller id announcement on the radio when the radio is being notified of the parked call?? Just an idea I would like to get working. VR Roger W4RFJ
