What hardware specs would be recomended for an app-rpt box containing the following: 1 - quad pci radio card 1 - tdm-400 fully populated 1 - voip autopatch 1 - sip telephone attached 3 - conferences (yes this eats processor) links to other allstar nodes Eric

Hello Group. I am currently running asterisk 1.4 and the latest app_rpt code on some custom HW (ADI Blackfin). All seems to be working well. I have two zaptel channels configured to talk to the custom repeater ports. There is a full duplex UHF repeater on Zaptel/1 and a half duplex link radio on Zaptel/2. When I link them the I do not get a courtesy tone on the main repeater when someone on the link releases PTT. Is this normal? I had to write my own Zaptel driver to control the HW so maybe I missed handling of a signal or something. If I knew that this worked on other setups it would help me determine where my issue is. [App_rpt] ASTERISKNOW, pciradio and apt-rpt

Hello all ;-) I'm allready starting a appliance with a pciradio and app-rpt. I've tried ubuntu, fedora 4, debian with allways a problem to compile the zaptel driver. I'm not a geek and i think i've some issue to understand how linux work's ... But now, as i'm trying asterisknow, i've found something working better. I've installed it into a dedicated server. I've tried to launch asis the pciradio card with "modprobe pciradio" and it's working. But i have'nt seen anything like app-rpt.so module in CLI console. I've many trouble to launch something working. Can you explain what is the best procedure to install asterisk with app-rpt please ? Or somebody could explain how managing the app-rpt in asterisknow ? Can App_rpt be used with an ATA for a simplex or half duplex remote base. The example might be an Grandstream HandyTone 286 with the FXS port connected ARIB. I have a situation where I need a very small radio interface and my asterisk box will be remote via a high speed connection. Thanks for any help. David

[App_rpt] Asterisk software update to 1.4 CVN

Steve or Jim, If possible, could someone show me how to update to Asterisk 1.4? Or would one of you like to check into my system and run the updated? I am still running version 49 and believe I'm missing out on some of the improvements to the app_rpt applications. If you cannot not please direct me to the howto's to follow and I will attempt the update. Thanks and I appreciation your time in advance. Will / W4WWM

Hi, I've been lurking on this list for quite some time and I am extremely interested in setting up a simplex node to start playing with this. What exactly will I need besides the obvious(radio, computer, etc), I am little confused on what type of FXS card I will need just for a single radio, all the ones I have seen are fairly pricey. I will then need an ARIB board to interface the radio to the FXS card correct? tnx and 73's Stephen N1VLV
