Solving Identification Problems with direct RF links

I know this is a major problem that has showed up, and I would like to know if anybody knows how to fix it for the best operation. Thanks for any help, I am a newbie at the software and CentOS ACID is the first time I have used command line. Background -There is a remote repeater on a mountain west of me -No internet exists at the site -I can't add any other link in because of antenna expenses -The Rocky Mountain Radio League has held approval for an RF link to the repeater using the input frequency of the repeater What they will do -Because of the loonngg hang time, they will disable the TX CTCSS right away after the transmission is done. -They will NOT TX CTCSS on their CW ID so I don't have to hear that in the node. What I am expected to do -Only CW ID when a remote person is transmitting, so when they are coming in from the internet to my node, only ID over their transmission (yes I know the morse will be playing at the same time as the talking) -NO random ID's coming up 10 mins after the conversation is done. I don't want my node to just come up at random times and ID Any suggestions, any previous attempts for a link like that? Thanks so much, and any help would be greatly appreciated. PTT/VOX Issues with Remote Node and Autopatch

I currently have a Hub Node setup. A radio node will follow. My goal for the moment is for a remote node to connect to my hub and then for my hub to initiate an IAX call over to my asterisk PBX where it will ring a particular extension. This mostly works, but the remote node remains keyed up throughout the connection. I am seeking a solution. Based upon a suggestion from Mike the Midnight Engineer, I took a look at the events programming description. I was able to figure out after a few reads how to use the RPT_NUMLINKS variable to trigger an autopatch dial macro when the value goes from false to true. So a remote connection comes into my hub and the designated extension on my PBX rings. Audio is passed both directions. However, as stated above, no PTT control. I have looked at the duplex and vox timeout configuration variables and have tried a number of approaches without success. Any thoughts or direction would be most appreciated. Thanks, Dan K2DLS

iaxRpt Client SCAN help

Aloha, Trying to get the SCAN feature of the iaxRpt Client to work. I have multiple nodes not connected together that I would like to be able to monitor when they become active. I have checked the help and support tab and google to no avail. I find mentions but no explanations of what the tick boxes actually do. Looking at the Options/Preferences/Scan tab, in the box next to SCAN TYPE: there are no options. What should go in there if anything? Is there a "poop sheet" on setting this up that I missed. Few CLI questions

I have a few questions, I moved the server from my home location to the repeater location about 20 miles from home. As far as I can tell everything in terms of making a connection to the outside world went OK. I have a few issues that I cant figure out. 1. I created a SIP and IAX connection for my tablet and cellphone to experiment with. Those worked fine at home and the only thing different is the net work. When I connect on SIP the node will not recognize any DTMFs when I connect via IAX it will recognize DTMFs. Is there a way to watch thru the CLI if it's receiving DTMFs to determine whats happening? I also get this error on the new network that I didn't see at home. [Jul 4 21:56:02] WARNING[4042]: chan_iax2.c:921 jb_warning_output: Resyncing the jb. last_delay -3774, this delay -47807, threshold 8170, new offset 43858 Is this anything I should be concerned about? I have a few other SIP issues but I'd better take it a few at a time. Thank you

Changing courtesy tones

ACID Capabilities

I was all set to begin setting up a server using a dual processor AMD because I have one gathering dust. I'm told that I don't need a "server" but a 1U was given to me and the opportunity to mount it at a data center. I don't see a 64-bit distro so I'm assuming that only x86? The 64-bit AMD Opteron 275 as I recall can use the instruction set of x86 and I'm okay with overkill. I thought that if I had anything extra I could maybe share with the less fortunate, although I don't know my own needs yet. This server has 8GB of RAM and I was going to change the RAID to a SD drive. I've loaded CentOS many, many times and I know that the standard distro can handle a dual processor but can the Acid distro? I guess I figured that if a P4 2.8GHz can handle 4 nodes than a dual processor should be able to handle 8 if the kernel allows a dual proc. I'd appreciate a moment of someone's time to tell me if I can use what I have and save some money. I don't need to get all fancy; I was trying to save money and buy the RTCM. Thanks in advance.
