Node info
by Robert Newberry 12 Mar '15

12 Mar '15

I use one of K0KN's scripts for email status. I noticed some nodes have a little information like city, state and freq. What .conf file would that information be located so I could have that too? I noticed my nodes just show a node # and that's it. Thank you Bob/N1XBM

Show IP address
by Robert Newberry 12 Mar '15

12 Mar '15

I wrote it down a while back but now have lost my notes. I've tried google and I must be using the wrong terms. Is there a way to show the IP addresses of the nodes connected to my node? I thought it could be done from the CLI? Thank you

turing off repeater
by jumping_jackass＠yahoo.com 12 Mar '15

12 Mar '15

I found only one code (92) to turn off an allstar repeater and it seems to do so by disabling the reciever. Unfortunatly now i can not turn it back on because the reciever is "DISABLED". Have i just found the wrong code or am i missing something here? Pursuant to U.S. Code, title 47, Chapter 5, Sub-chapter II, ß227, "Any and all non-solicited commercial E-mail sent to this address is subject to a download and archival fee of $500.00 U.S.". Alinco DR-235
by Geoff 12 Mar '15

A couple of questions for the consortium 1) Has anyone here succcessfully interfaced a URI to an Alinco DR135/235/435 radio using the DB-9 jack on the back? 2) Ass/u/me'ing the 9600 baud line is actually discriminator audio (is it?) then the DSP function of channel driver usbradio should be adequate for PL detection. Is it? 3) In regards to a Beagle Bone Black, has there been any more progress towards DSP operations? (I already know what Doug is going to say - has anyone made it work?) AdvThanks!ance for any assistance. -Geoff/W5OMR 29655

We had the same problem with 2514 on the 900 MHz network. A rule in the IP table now blocks it. Tom / K5TRA

Xenserver connect usb to vm
by Don Russell 08 Mar '15

08 Mar '15

Anyone have experience in running acid under Xen give me a shout offline. Currently running a couple Linux OS's under my xenserver just fine. I'm Working on trying to get acid to work too. The magic will be connecting the hardware usb to the vm. There's a couple ways to skin that cat. Wondering if it's been done before. 73 Don W9DRR

DSP on a separate BBB
by Eric Guth 08 Mar '15

08 Mar '15

Has anyone made a standalone CTCSS decoder that runs on the Raspberry pi or BBB? I want to decode multiple PL tones before feeding into my BBB node. IE I want DSP functionality even if I have to use two BBBs. I want one PL tone for repeat only while the other will allow connection to Allstar network. My radios do not have internal CTCSS. 73, Eric Guth 4Z1UG Node: 28422

Experimental Asterisk app_rpt build available for Raspberry Pi 2
by (KP4TR)Ramon Gonzalez 08 Mar '15

08 Mar '15

Hello, I just rolled an experimental build of Asterisk app_rpt on the Raspberry PI2 for ArchLinux. Use at your own risk. You're on your own! It is experimental, but you're welcome to ask questions here or directly if I have the time to respond. There is nothing special about it, except it it runs on the Raspberry Pi 2. It was an excercise to roll my own and learn more about how to roll my own Allstarlink. I must give credit to Anthony, VK2ACP, whose excellent package build tool Dahdi-linux-allstar-pi for Archlinux in GitHub was a blessing after spending countless hours trying to get Dahdi to install correctly. His tool made it a breeze. Also credit to the BBB guys (KB4FXC WA3DSP W0ANM) since my BBB Asterisk configuration worked with minor changes on the Pi 2. The disk image is being hosted here (Yes we also do IRLP, but had nowhere else to host this file!) : http://irlplatino.net/wp/?page_id=738 and there is a link where you can download the zip file. As usual, unzip, and use Win32DiskImager to write on an 8GB microSD card. Thanks to KP4EOP and KP3IV for hosting of the file. To get it up and running: Download ZIP file. Unzip and use Win32DiskImager to write image to an 8GB microSD card. Insert sd card into Raspberry Pi2. Apply power, boot up and root password is allstarpi2. Change root password with 'passwd' command. (Not my problem if you get hacked!) Run the script /etc/asterisk/scripts/node_id_gen.sh W0XXX 12345 to generate a voice ID. Use your call and optional node number. This generates your callsign and node id. The node id parameter is optional. Configure .conf files in /etc/asterisk as usual. There are no special start up scripts. Change password, and a stock configuration of allstar is in the usual folders (/etc/asterisk). Use at your own risk. You're on your own! 73!
