I used the Google map API (https://developers.google.com/maps/) for IRLP node locations: http://kd3su.info/maps/kd3su.html A while ago I saw a map that showed the IRLP nodes linked up somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Good morning! I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so I ask the following question. I enjoy the "bubble graphs" but wish that the layout was tied back to the Lat/Lon of the site. Has anyone looked at ... 1) adding some geographic layout to the bubble graph, not to scale 2) making a mapping file of online sites to overlay google earth / google maps Thanks for any feedback. ...STeve - KF5VH

Node server has become unstable

The server I installed "DIAL" with 4 nodes several months agoslowly starting having issues. At first all was good then it started locking up every fewdays. To try to get around this I had the server reboot nightly. Now it has issues after a few hours of operation or less. A reboot generally clears the issues however sometimes ittakes more than one reboot. All nodes are linked to each other and then linked to therest of the system utilizing the permanent linking command. The symptoms include finding asterisk not running all nodesstuck in transmit. Typing asterisk at the # prompt does not correct the issuehowever a reboot does. Other times asterisk is running there is a digital soundingclick and the nodes will time out intermittently, yet the sound comes out viathe link to the rest of the system. I do not believe that the issue is incoming into the receiversas at this site GE voters are utilized and there is both remote status and theability to mute individual voter channels. With all voter channels muted theissue persists. The server is built on a HP Z400 4 gig ram After the last reboot I quickly ran asterisk –rvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvI did see some error messages they are listed below. Hughes Net

I was using a DSL connection with no problems other then dependably and I was getting it from a neighbor. I now have Hughes Net satellite service and I'm able to connect to my node and others by using my radio tone pad. I cant connect via telephone anymore. I have set the port forwarding in my router though I didn't have to before the change. Does anyone have any ideals on what may be the problem with not being able to call into my node? I'm taking my first plunge with Limey Linux on a little thin-client computer. I didn't see the first time boot message questions (probably because I was logged in remotely rather than locally). http://docs.allstarlink.org/drupal/node/101 I'm able to log in remotely or directly from the console and "Limey-linux micro linux distribution version 1.1.4" appears to boot properly. How do I get back to the First Time Boot program to change my password, time zone, hostname, and network? Once that's done, I think I can take it through the nodesetup routine... Thanks! John

Node behind corporate server I.T. request

My new node is getting close to deployment. Location is on a corporate firewalled network. The node will be acting as the VHF repeater controller, have 1 Allstar and 1 Echolink node. I will be administrator for the nodes via IAX ans SSH. I am working on the IT staff request for network ports. This is what I have assembled from various sources: - Static IP - Port 4569 UDP IN - Port 222 SSH IN - Port 5198 UDP IN/OUT - Port 5199 UDP IN/OUT - Port 5200 TCP OUT Did I miss anything? Is this request phrased in any specific IT-server-speak? Just asking as we have never needed to interface with corporate I.T before. Thanks, Duane KA1LM

Local area repeater announcements

I am testing my node on the bench. Amplified speakers are connected to the USB FOB line out for the repeater transmitter. Node is set for #2 duplex. If I connect to the node via Web Transceiver or IAX, I hear the CWID on both the repeater channel and IAX/WT. I will be either recording voice announcements or loading text for text-speech for local club and area announcements over the repeater. Is it normal for these audio streams to be heard over both the local repeater AND connected IAX/WT connections? Is this as "local" as it gets (localplay)? I do not want my local announcements going out state-wide when my node becomes linked into the state Allstar network. This is my first node and I do not yet have the experience to know Allstar "normal". 73, Duane KA1LM #42996
