Re: [App_rpt-users] How to lockout local announcements during activity?

It's not about changing messages, it's about inhibiting crontab'd schedule stored message broadcast on the RF hardware(local) during EL/ASL QSOs. Earlier, we had ASL nodes connected to us and the announcements broadcast on top of the traffic. Duane Sent from Mailspring (https://getmailspring.com/) the best free email app for work

Manually key ASL from command-line
by James WD0JB 03 May '19

03 May '19

All, Is there a way to manually key from the Asterisk command-line, or other, to transmit when using a USB fob without the COS activated? I have a fob that I cannot key with pin48 on CM119, but I still want to use the fob, possibly as a radio-less node with a headset / microphone. I cannot key with pin48 on the CM119 because there is not the proper voltage on that pin to pull down. If anyone has any suggestions, I am using the SYBA UAUD compact fob. This Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MSS6CS Also, these fobs (I've tried 2 so far) have an eeprom chip on them (FT93C46A). Any others I've seen used in this manner from forum posts do not appear to have this chip, however, removing the chip does not resolve the issue. One fob has 200mv the other has about 1volt. Nothing else connected to the pin. Thanks in advance for any help. James

How to lockout local announcements during activity?
by Duane Fowler 02 May '19

I have cron announcements being broadcast on the RF side during commute times. Is there a simple way to inhibit those announcements while the repeater is active? I think that they were inhibited during local RF in/out but would talk over the top of a remote Echolink/Allstar QSO. Thanks, Duane KA1LM ASL42996 Sent from Mailspring (https://link.getmailspring.com/link/82DB373C-43F2-4C48-96B9-D3D689F457F6@ge…) the best free email app for work

Sources for channel drivers and all....
by Ramesh Dhami 01 May '19

01 May '19

Hi Guys: Working on making some heavy mods to a vanilla install to handle Allstar / XLX / DMR-YSF / IRLP (EXP) Setup. I wanted to confirm a couple of channel drivers (one that I see, one that I do not). I can see the compiled drivers in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules.... but where is the code so I can verify version #'s and then add another channel driver and re-compile? Back in the days of ACID, they used to be in /usr/src/asterisk/apps ... and I think there was a directory called channels ?? Thx, Ramesh. VA3UV / WA3UV

remote base question
by George Csahanin 20 Apr '19

20 Apr '19

I just resurrected my remote base allstar PC, hooked it to my FT-857(same commands as FT897) and I can connect to it, I can control it, read frequencies, etc. But what doesn't work is COS from the remote base radio to indicate signal. The client's repeater stays keyed. Until I send "#" to disconnect the remote command. Maybe I just don't remember right but I recall the remote acting on COS. I have modified the FT-857 to have Micom-like squelch which would make the remote really neat on hf where the users's repeater would not be keyed continuously. Am I remembering incorrectly or is something wrong here? And if it doesn't detect COS from the remote base radio can that be added. I have a great voice detection board I made up for the FT-897/857.
