Tailmessage Timer

Hi, kinda new into AllStar. I want to be able to change the tailmessage timer via a macro if needed. Any hints on how to do this? My tailmessages are set at 45 minutes but if I want to cancel a club meeting, or set a weather alert, I can script in a new tail message but I would want to shorten the timer to lets say every 5 minutes. I don't really want to rewrite the rtp.conf just overwrite the timer in memory until the reboot or until I change it back. Hello to the group, Got a pair of GTX900 mobile radio and got them tuned (mostly ok) to the ham band. I now want to use them for repeater use in the 900 mhz band. I went to repeater builder page and used all the info I could for the interfacing. I did went for flat audio connection, as stated on the gtx900 page I used pin 7 and 11 for the receiver audio out. And I did put the dip switch close to the interfacing jack to off as specified. I then tried to do a radio tune rxnoise but it always fail. I want to use the dsp fonction of usbradio as it is way easier then getting a cor output on the gtx900. Anyone ever used those radio with ASL? thanks VE2PF

My Personal Experience / Thoughts When I began learning Allstar and Linux, I became very confused. Looking for answers using my browser, I was constantly getting conflicting information. After some time, I became more aware that there were TWO separate AllStar systems in place, and they did NOT work the same? This severely delayed my initial progress, and continues to hinder, not help, new hams looking to learn. I am very angry that this is allowed to continue. How are we to learn if there are different answers to the same question? There MUST be ONE answer, and ONE AllStar. Thank you Jim Dixon for your incredible programming skill and OPENLY sharing it with us! Doug Crompton is obviously skilled as well, and has proven that. Doug, why not be proud of your accomplishment, comply with the LAW and share the source code? What seems to be the problem? We ALL lose by being divided. I'm late to this game, so I do not know what the history of this issue is. The LAW says the initial code is OPEN SOURCE, available to anyone. I feel like many people on this list don’t understand the relevance of source code and why the HamVoip image has done anything wrong because many are just end users, and on the outside it is free and has great support. Why does the source matter? The core foundation of amateur radio is based on the ability to experiment and modify things to make it better. Without the source, the hamvoip image is something that we can only be a user of, and cannot make improvement for ourselves. If we have custom ideas. Think about a radio that physically will not let you put your soldering iron and multimeter in it without self destructing. It's funny to write this yet again, however AllStar is being attacked by the people who have contributed nothing and stolen everything from this community. I was forwarded an email with claims of registration issues by John David McGough. Now these people (who use the AllStar registration servers and core infrastructure) claim once again, AllStar has problems with registration services. They refuse to provide any evidence of this, but have no problems spreading this FUD. Registration is, and has been working. ASL has multiple servers running, and the nodes list is being generated properly too. This is stable and working. If one dies, DNS moves it to another server. If one has a registration issue, what is a better way to handle it; a. email the help desk <rt(a)allstarlink.org> or this mailing list, or b. provide no notice and bitch about and libel the community? Anyone can check <https://grafana.allstarlink.org> and see the registration counts, and the top authentication failures. I Spoke to soon... I see that there is a filtering function by clicking on any callsign once the list is displayed... NICE However I find no way to enter the callsign you would like to view without doing a search feature on whatever device you use to view the list. without scrolling through the list. ASL-MENU bug?

Anyone else having issue with raspbian stretch not setting host name and static IP? I need to set a static IP and specific gateway and I am not familiar with debian’s methods. If some can send me an example config file and location? I assume it goes to /etc/network/interfaces.d? I just don’t know the format and what the file name should be.
