Delay before transmit

I've been trying to locate the "Hold Off" delay timer. I don't know that is what it is called but I need to insert a 50 to 200 ms delay between the time the PTT is activated and the audio is delivered to allow the USB sound card to settle down and play nicely. Any thoughts? Ray D. Congdon - KL7UT

Question Does the lsnodes program work with private nodes, and if not, does anyone have a way of seeing the status of private links or is this just not possible Thanks KD9BVF Dave

Downloaded ASL.. Went through the first time set up... toggled thru the rest of the set ups, entered items as needed, I can winscp in from another computer, and I believe I have the correct UDP ports open on the modem to operate outside of the box. and I am still struck going now where.. again. Won't do anything.. this shouldn't be this complicated? I have node 47379, on a Pi 2, rim-lite to the rc210. (also have a URIxB available but not connected) I found IRLP to easier to work with than this... need help! before i go nutty! this has been a 3 sunday project.. Step by step instructions suck ! Found out what to root problem was for Auto-congesting call due to slow, failing connection. It was a little simpler than a link or tail a file. It turns out he was using a NON-standard BINDPORT I /we should have seen that when I did a; 28523*CLI> rpt lookup <NODE> Node: 28523, Method: DNS, Actual: DNS, Data: radio@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1000/NODExxx.xxx.xxx.xxx He changed the BINDPORT in rpt.conf and now have no trouble connecting anymore. What could I have possibly done wrong? Help please

Hi all I have installed Image Version 1.5rc50on a Raspi 3 and follow the instructions menu to set it. I am using a sound FOB card and VOX as Simplex. I also installed Echolink. I am unable to access my node via a VHF handheld. On Supermon, the PTT remains idle. Connecting to other Nodes and monitoring works fine, the transmission is repeated here on my local VHF frequency. Access via Echolink Android, also works well. Any help please? 73s Rachid 3B8FP Node 40248

New setup - connecting to WiFi

I have just written a fresh image (ASL_1.01-20180228...) from allstarlink.org to a Raspberry Pi 3. It boots ok, and now I need to get it connected to WiFi. I am digging thru docs and how-to pages on allstarlink.org and so far, no luck. I’ve gone thru the first time setup in asl-menu, but I can’t figure out how to get a list of WiFi SSIDs to choose from, etc. I am not Linux-savvy but comfortable poking around as needed. How can I get connected to WiFi? Thanks

I just realized that from the original distro I had the simpleusb module. So just enabled it and changed the rpt.conf back to simpleusb and it works. Mike, I really hate Arch Linux... and will never use “brand x” distro with all their Chinese simplex nodes... That said, my third message yesterday was that I did finally get it to compile but needed to de-select simpleusb. Something is funny with the makefile for that. And the issue just isn’t jumping out at me. I also had to change permissions on all the files in the sources. In haste I just made them all 777. Still didn’t work till I also chmod -R .* at which point the only problem was simpleusb. I need that but I’m limping along with usbradio fir now, but it has the usual “holes” in the audio. I followed the instructions in the README file. Like I said, when I’d pull the sources from Jim Duuuude’s SVN in the past it all compiled ok. Thanks fir the suggestions but the only issue I see now is simpleusb. I figured out the work around fir the rest. And I ran this all as root. Hate sudo... OK folks. I've tried everything I know how to do to recompile asterisk with my mod to app_rpt.c and am at wit's end. Just tried fresh today on a fresh install of the Allstarlink 1.01 on a Pi3 (the distro works fine). I made sure that gcc and g++ 4.9 were installed. Then did: git clone https://github.com/AllStarLink/Asterisk.git Then in asterisk/ did ./configure CXX=g++-4.9 CC=gcc-4.9 Then did make Blows up. Needed to delete menuselect.makeopts (not unusual) so deleted and start over. Blows up at need termcap...I re-installed libncurses-dev Gets past that and blows up at chan_pi, go into menuselect and unselect pi, try again Blows up now at chan_beagle, unslect that and try again Blows up at chan_simpleusb, unselect try again Blows up at: Makefile:361:recipe for target "main" failed Running this as root. Also for grins (assuming a permissions issue) did chmod -R 777 * Didn't help. The README says this is what was used to make 1.01 WHAT am I doing incorrectly??
