Registration Refused messages
by brad＠kr4d.io 13 Mar '19

I’m in the process of setting up my first node, and I’m getting a constant stream of ‘Registration Refused’ messages in the console. The node does appear to be registered, and can connect to other nodes. A search of the mailing list archives turned up a report of this happening last year, but I couldn’t find a fix. Sample (time is CDT / UTC-5): [Mar 12 11:10:53] NOTICE[2840]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '47943' rejected: 'Registration Refused' from: '44.98.254.145' [Mar 12 11:11:43] NOTICE[2838]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '47943' rejected: 'Registration Refused' from: '44.98.254.145' [Mar 12 11:12:33] NOTICE[2837]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '47943' rejected: 'Registration Refused' from: '44.98.254.145' [Mar 12 11:13:23] NOTICE[2835]: chan_iax2.c:9712 socket_process: Registration of '47943' rejected: 'Registration Refused' from: ’44.98.254.145' Thanks, Brad KR4DIO

Re: [App_rpt-users] Remote Control of PL Decode Frequency in USBRadio
by John 12 Mar '19

Thank you for your reply. The problem I am having is that the TS-2000 station radio does not have PL decode available on the accessory output. Accordingly, it can not be readily used as a repeater control station. It is great as an HF remote station. I am trying to come up with a way to use the DSP feature of the USBRadio module to accomplish selectable PL decode. As far as I can tell, there are three solutions: 1: Use SimpleUSB and do a hardware hack on the TS-2000 to bring out PL decode to the accessory connector. But then how do I make SimpleUSB ignore the CTCSS input line on the URIx as needed? 2: Use USBRadio (instead of SimpleUSB) to perform the decode using its DSP. This is the least intrusive, but this is the question: is there a way to disable or change the frequency of the DSP PL tone frequency on the fly??? 3: Use Hamlib (which I am using to control the radio anyway) and poll for valid PL decode. Use this to put the Allstar system into receive (instead of the CTCSS line on the URIx). This sounds like the best way to me, but I am not sure how to tell Asterisk to go into receive. So the question can be distilled thusly: How can I push a command from the shell into Asterisk to emulate what the URIx does when it receives a valid PL decode??? Thanks again for any replies. Remote Control of PL Decode Frequency in USBRadio
by John 10 Mar '19

10 Mar '19

Hello to the group, I am trying to find a way to remotely control PL decode in a Kenwood TS-2000 configured as a remote base. The problem is that the ACCESSORY 2 connector on the TS-2000 does not expose PL decode - just COR. and the COR goes active any time there is a carrier, even if CTCSS decode is enabled. All the CTCSS feature does is mute the speaker. It has no effect on the COR line. So I thought I could use the usbradio module to accomplish this, but it only makes sense if I can remotely change the PL decode frequency, and disable it. That way it could be used as a frequency agile repeater control station as well as an HF station. I was thinking I could modify the usbradio configuration file text and restart asterisk, but that does not seem very elegant. I have written a Java class that runs on the Hamvoip RPi box, and it works very well as an interface between DTMF from the extensions module and Hamlib's rigctl on the Bash shell. (I can't get rigctld to work, but that is a different issue I will ask for assistance on once I have this working.) I just need to figure out a clean way to change PL decode frequencies in usbradio - basically from the command line. Thanks in advance for your assistance. John R. Server won't dial out.
by Ray D Congdon 07 Mar '19

I have an odd issue with node 46387 which is my portable simplex "Grab & Go" Raspberry Pi Server based node. It worked all summer long while I was running around doing wildfire comm support, used both my cellphone hotspot and over Satellite links. Got it out to use in the shack the other day and it won't dial out (or in)! Set it up on the same LAN that I have another server behind and that it worked on last year. Have no problems with the other two nodes on the other server on that LAN (*45882 <http://stats.allstarlink.org/nodeinfo.cgi?node=45882> & 45685 <http://stats.allstarlink.org/nodeinfo.cgi?node=45685>)* and have a unique port forwarded thru the Router for its Receive but no soap... Shows up on the AllStarLink site as active and can see keyups. One odd symptom is that when monitoring in the Asterisk CLI it indicates that Asterisk is truncating any node numbers that I dial to a four digit ID... i.e. I dial *312345 The CLI shows *31234 and will not accept the fifth digit. It is not a DTMF decode issue as if I dial a nonsense code like *512345678 The CLI shows all the digits...??!! The voice telemetry all works fine and the response even for a four digit node ID (like *32560) is a long (15-20 second) pause then "Node XXXX Failed to connect." Been digging thru all the .conf files and comparing to my other nodes, No obvious (To me.) differences. Oh and Yes I've done a full update and I can ping 8.8.8.8 and Google.com with success. I'm about to just blow it out and start from scratch. Thanks in advance. Ray D. Congdon - KL7UT

I've done this in the past but i'm getting an error now. I'm installing ASL manually from this wiki article: https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/ASL_FAQ The very last line is getting this?: root@ip-172-31-26-10:/tmp# apt-get install allstarlink -y Reading package lists... Question about USB-URI
by Bret Taylor 06 Mar '19

06 Mar '19

I'm trying to interface a USB-URI to a JPS Communications NXU-2a ( https://jps.sugarmapleinteractive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/NXU-2A-Man… - Page 2-8 for pin out). USB-URI NXU-2A ------------- ------------ 13 - Ground ----> 1,15 - Ground 22 - Output ----> 6,14 - Input 21 - Audio In ---> 8 - Audio Out No COR, and no PTT. Will the USB-URI still work? What Group ID will be generated? I'm using TL-Net to bridge two of these together. (The other USB-URI is connected to a GE MASTR III Base Station) Thanks, --Bret Taylor Olympia School District
