RTCM problem

Hi, Ive been struggling for weeks trying to use the dsp squelch. The sql and diode calibration routine seems to work like the book says as well as setting all the rx/tx levels. The problem is when I set the squelch pot which seems to do nothing at all. It all works as I believe it should when using ext COR from the radio. Repeat and echolink and offline functions all work. It seems odd(to me) that the sql pot setting always returns zero. Main and status displays are below, followed by voter.conf Any suggestions? GPIO Timeouts

Hi I have used the cop61 to switch GPIO Port1 on/off no problems I have a macro that does 2 commands one switching the GPIO on/off and another that does localplay <sound_file> to say enabled or disabled etc. I am looking to figure out how I can auto control this so that if a user sends the dtmf code to turn on the GPIO Port1 and leaves it on after a period of time say 30 mins later the command then times_out and resets its self back to the off state ? is there a way to do that ? I have been looking at functions and things cant quite figure it out ? Thanks All Barry G8SAU Node 2536

script for connecting node

Does anyone have a cron script for connecting my node to another node ? I need to check my node on my repeater that it is reconnected every hour after it is used by people . Need help please

Ok so about two days ago while talking to someone I noticed my node stopped encoding PL. I was on the road and just rebooted my server and all was well. It did it again today I was next to my server so I completely shut down and removed the power and then restated. I am still node encoding PL. I verified this by a service monitor. I also rechecked usbradio.conf and nothing has changed. Here is a cut paste from this morning. Any help anyone can offer to help me would be great I am still learning linux. Setting Up a Remote Base w/RTCM

Our remote base isn’t cutting it. It is half-duplex using a Vertex VX-4200. We are told that the audio has no bottom, it is sending CWID that it hears from the repeater (I knew why) and is sending pulses. I didn’t set the hardware or software up, so as I ask please know that I am at the top of a mountain and the remote base at the bottom where we have internet. Here’s what we are dealing with. Our intent is to attach the RTCM at the repeater site once we have internet up there. Until then... The DB-15 on the back of the Vertex VX-4200 is *almost* capable of being used as a repeater controller output. Pin 1 = TX Audio Pin 2 = RX Audio Pin 6 = External PTT Pin 9 = COR (see notes) Pin 15 = GRND COR is achieved by creating voltage divider using other pins. Only then will one get COR but not COS. PL will only make it to the speaker on the front panel and rear jack. PL IS NOT on pin 2. Pin 2 is squelched but when it receives the repeater’s built-in controller (a Motorola MSF-5000). Every time our CWID goes off our remote base sends it to everyone. Here are the problems. First, we’re told that we are committing link abuse by “jumping” or key clicking every time someone else transmits on a node our node replies. The pin that we’re able to pull from is the only source that we’re aware of and is the pin used by Vertex to send audio to their VRS (mobile repeater). http://www.shercoares.org/doc_files/manuals/vx4200_sm.pdf I’ve been told to turn PL off and let the repeater pass through the tone. But please remember that pin 2 has no PL on it. Only the front panel speaker and rear speaker jack audio are muted by PL. The easiest solution may be a GM300 but I cannot get the darn software on our old 386 laptop. The floppy decided to only read those created by itself. We’re puckered up on this one. Suggestions are appeciated.

RTCM Network Duplex Mismatch

Hey All, I'm having some issues trying to get my server talking to my RTCM without creating a duplex mismatch. I have 2 nics on my server, eth1 connects to my MAN which has my Rx only voter sites on it, and eth0 has a cross over cable and connects directly to my master / Tx site. I've been using ethtool to set and see the port settings for eth0, and when I set the RTCM to half and eth0 to autoneg it fails autoneg and defaults to 10 half. So this should work, but ethtool shows a bunch of Rx CRC errors indicating a link speed mismatch. If I change the RTCM to full duplex, I'd expect problems, but I don't see any Rx CRC errors and everything seems to work fine. Question is, is there a diagnostic screen or debug level in the RTCM that will show my ethernet Rx errors / CRC errors? Has any one else come across weirdness with the RTCM and duplex mismatches? Feature wish: 100 Mbps autoneg for the RTCM, lol. Thanks, Jesse VE7LYD

Remote Bases with 16 channel radios?

Has anybody ever created a remote base with a radio like the SM120 16 channel commercial radio? Would it be possible to use the URI to specify the channel I want to go to, for example, hooking a GPIO pin to the "channel -" button and hooking another to the "channel +" button? So if I am on channel 1 and want to go to 7, the GPIO for "chan +" would have to pulse 6 times. That wouldn't be very reliable probably because there is no confirmation that you are actually on the right channel, but this is how I would do it: When a channel change is requested, pulse 16 or more times on the "chan -" button to make sure it is on channel 1. Then count the + button up to the channel number you want to go to. That idea, however wouldn't work on the SM120 because going below channel 1 brings you back to 16. Another idea I have is put one channel on a frequency reference (maybe those 150mhz re-broadcasts of radio stations?) and then find the channel you want based on that reference. Another idea yet would be to use a few more GPIO pins to see which elements of the 7-segment displays are lit up and then make an estimate on which channel you currently are on.
