use of an IP phone to monitor my node

I was given an IP phone about 6 months ago.It was left at my friend home after he lost his job cause the company went bancrupt. (he was working from home) they took the laptop but never asked for the phone and router ;-) ) So I took it and it was trying to call home to download its firmware and boot.. So I did a reset, now its waiting to know what do.. The model is a polycom IP335 Would it be possible to program it so that it call my node so that I could remote monitor it.. That of course would be a learning experience about IP phone.. I also have an ATA , a grandstream ht701.. would that also work? Thanks for the time you take to answer my nooby question. Pierre

URIx GPIO ports

Hi Anyone know if the rpt code has built_in toggles to be able to switch on/off a single GPIO Port? on a URIx from dmk-eng I have a repeater that I have installed a Mast Head Pre-Amp and want to be able to switch it on/off from a command cop ? and maybe have it controlled from a DTMF cmd Thanks Barry G8SAU

echolink db update problem

This morning I did what someone asked me to try to fix my echolink problem. remove temp files and logs.. So I removed all temp files in /tmp and backed up my logs in a directory and removed them from the /var/log/asterisk/ I then restarted the service with astres.sh It came back ok but I got this in verbose 3 [Jun 9 07:04:33] ERROR[32132]: chan_echolink.c:2432 do_el_directory: Error in directory download on naeast.echolink.org then looked in full log got nothing more then this.. [Jun 9 07:04:33] ERROR[32132] chan_echolink.c: Error in directory download on naeast.echolink.org So I went to the tmp file and downloaded the only file that was there. and it was the allstarlink node list.. so I went on and ping the naeast.echolink.org machine. cant reach it. from the allstar machine and from home.. Now If an error like that happen. do the echolink channel switch to another echolink server or it just die there? I did an echolink dbdump and the db was all screwed.. the first part of a line was not the node number, it was a truncked location.. to fix this I had to run the astres.sh script. So that mean that if in any of the partial db download an error happen, the db will get bad and it wont be fixed.. there must be a way to fix this.. one way that come to mind would be that if an echolink connection get rejected, the db is flush and a new full download happen.. that way if it was a corrupted db like I had the next time the user try to connect it will work, cause they always retry ;-) I will continu on reading that source code and will try to come with a fix..

Ok this is some thing i have been wanting to do such as configuring the URI i have to discriminate the pl tones for me however I am having a very hard time to get it to cooperate correctly.. I was finally able to get my repeater backup however its letting users with no tone transmit.... Loren, you have ctcssfrom=no in you config. Bug with latest SVN on Raspberry Pi/URIx

Jonathan, It sounds like your problem has to do with interaction of the SVN and the already install code on the RPi2 We have a number of Allstar systems installed on Raspberry Pis. They are all running Debian Jessie and the latest SVN nad URIs without issues. If you want to run with the SVN code, you can start with a clean base image and add Asterisk. I have built some scripts that will ease this process. I'm not sure if this belongs here, or over at the Arm list. But I've noticed a bug with the current SVN version of app_rpt on the Raspberry Pi 2 V1.0 Allstar system. Initial setup is fine, everything is working well. When I download the current SVN of app_rpt, complie and install it, I run into a bug. I'm using the Raspberry Pi 2 version B with a DMK URIx. After installation of the current SVN version of app_rpt, upon reboot, Asterisk/app_rpt will start as normal, I hear my repeater's ID, nodes connected, courtesy and function tones, etc. It will repeat, all seems to be functioning normally... But after about a minute app_rpt throws an "HID thread died or something!!" error and starts flooding the Asterisk CLI screen with "can't detach usb device" errors from chan_usbradio. At this point my URIx starts slow flashing. Asterisk/app_rpt will no longer output any audio, it will not repeat, nothing. Echolink Updates

Greetings from the Isle of Man, We seldom use Echolink for outgoing connections but, with an influx of visitors for the Isle of Man TT races this week, we've seen a couple of stations trying to connect "back home" via Echolink - and failing. The issue seems to be that AllStar is unaware of the nodes that the users are trying to connect to. An example is ON0VOS-L (node 356825). If I issue the command "asterisk -rx "database show" | grep ON0" I get a list of entries similar to ON0VOS, but not the one that I'm interested in. Also, comparing with the current logins page on the Echolink site. There are a lot of other nodes missing from the Allstar database. Does anyone know why this might be and what I can do about it? I want our visitors to be able to leave with a favourable view of AllStar and even if I have to fudge a nasty hack to make the desired nodes accessible, I'll do it! So I re-ran the database show command and it came up empty again. No sign of ON0VOS in the database So, the download is being received but it's not updating the database.
