It does become hard to separate because a user is a user in app_rpt. It is generic. And with asterisk, there is normally more than one way to do anything but, I can only suggest tagging the incoming portal connection with a specific callerid or var and blocking it at the phone patch. Much like a network tagging. You might need to look-up asterisk techniques to accomplish that. While I am pretty sure you can do this without affecting other app_rpt options/funtions, it may not be your best option. Mike, All you need to do is make a phone patch to the "registered" ip phone. I know saying it that simple is not always that simple if you have never scrubbed through the phone patch section of extensions.conf (uses stanza of radio) You might want to create a new autopatch command as so to set new timeout values and mask dial tone and the like for those calls. Here is a example in phone patch of extensions.conf. [radio] exten => _5XXX,1,Dial(sip/${EXTEN},17) ;dials ext 5xxx on this box When you dial any 4 digit exten starting with 5, it will dial the call. You could list each ext but this is cleaner using wildcards. Keep your ext's grouped together by type so you can have some rules or group rules. You perhaps need routing for multiple boxes. There is much to know of rules of asterisk dialing. Start here and see where you get. Hi, Does anyone know how I can set up to allow the auto patch to only be accessed over RF, i.e. so that someone cannot place an auto patch call from the phone portal or web transceiver? I’m sure this is somehow accomplished with context, but I’m not quite sure how to do it. Autopatch type question

I have successfully setup my nodes on the bbhn mesh network. I setup IAX2 trunks from my RasPBX to each node. I can connect to the nodes from an IP phone and carry on a conversation using the keypad to activate the PTT and release it. What I haven't figured out is how to setup the system to allow a mobile or HT to connect to an IP phone. I'm not after dial tone and placement of calls but a way for folks to dial an IP phone in our ARES EOC room or another ham home if they aren't on the radio. Any thoughts ? proper remote base frequency functioning?

Hello group, Assuming that I have a working remote base node, what is the command convention for controlling radio settings like frequency, PL, shift, etc? Still being new the fundamentals of app_rpt, I am trying to control the radio with "rpt fun" through the SSH. RPM command doesn't work on BBB

Hi I want to install Webmin on the BeagleBone. I downloaded the RPM file. I found the RPM command (in another folder in the BBB) and copied it in the /bin directory. But when i'm trying to install Webmin with the RPM command, nothing happens and I've gotten no error messages. Is someone can help me? Jean

Question Regarding Node Linking

Hello to the group, I have searched and searched regarding this questions because I know I have seen the question by others. But I cannot find the previous emails etc. So I need to ask again. I am wanting my node and repeater to automatically connect to my hub upon staring or restarting of asterisk. Can someone provide me the lines of code that I should enter to make this happen. hi group, i'm a disable ham from dawson pa. i'm 38 years old in wheelchair. i have been a ham since i was 13. i'm quite a computer person. i spend 12 to 14 hours a day online soon i will have an allstar node on a friends box. i look forward to learning the allstar systems and network. i'm not a programmer but enjoy learning about computer code and the way things are setup, so i hope u guys will let me join the tech group about allstar and allow me learn about it. 73 jimmy ka3vgm

Echo-stink

I've found the 'permit=w1aw,w5yi,etc' line in the echolink.conf only allows for 29 allowed calls. Any more than 30 entries in the list prevents incoming requests on or not on the list access to the node. Short of checking for typo's, using a backslash\ to continue to the next line, or adding another 'permit= line' hasn't proved any results. ???
