I have been wanting to use my RTCM in a mobile application such as this. There is a section in the RTCM manual which describes configuring the RTCM as a non-voted, non-simulcasted client. One would think that a GPS reference wouldn't be needed for something like this where the data is not time-sensitive, but app_rpt and chan_voter don't seem to want to work without a GPS sync (even for a standalone "simple radio interface" as described in the manual). If the RTCM's can't even be used as simple radio interfaces without a GPS, than that may need to be documented in a much clearer fashion to avoid confused, unhappy customers who are expecting to use the RTCM as a simple, standalone radio interface to app_rpt. RTCM Question

A question for the group please. I would like to use an RTCM in a mobile environment, using a wireless ISP. The question is, does anyone have any experience with this ? The reason that I ask is; I was checking with Verizon Wireless and they block UDP ports on their 4G/LTE network . Is anyone succesfully using something else ? Thanks and 73

Map & Lat Long Problems?

I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem entering LAT/LONG set up for their AllStar server location. The set up screen shows "Enter Location", I put in Lompoc CA, then press enter, but the map never shows up. I have the Lat/Long from Google Earth but the set up page will not allow typing that in. Interfacing Motorola TRBO XPR 4350 to BeagleBoard?

I think I read someone has interfaced a TRBO XPR radio. Can you assist me with where you grabbed the TXA, RXA, COR and PTT? Did you get them off the connector on the back of the radio? I don't see the appropriate pinouts to configure as these in CPS? Thanks, Mike kb8zgl

internet connection problems

Hi, I have installed a Acid build on a computer and while testing we noticed that the computer would lose internet connections and cease to operate. After trying numerous different things to no avail I installed Mozilla and opened a browser so that it would have a open window to a web site I have. Since doing that it has not lost internet connections. Now the setup here is that I have a router that normally assigns an ip but to keep the allstar computer operating with a IP that I could assign forwarded ports I assigned it an ip above the range that the router would use. The allstar computer does look at the router for DNS after I found that it would not work when trying to go to the DNS of my provider. Anybody have any suggestions about what to look for so I don’t have to have a browser window open? Thanks Steve N4YZA

VMware Player WORKS!

I just downloaded VMware player and installed it onto my win 7 HP laptop. Then I loaded CentOS and Asterisk from my ISO image CD. I’m using the URI... and it WORKS PERFECTLY! I can log into it with putty, and WINscp as well via the win 7 laptop that it’s running on. Pretty slick! Now installing it on my other HP Win 7 laptop. 73 Jim W7RY 28181 28343

I tried it and found that I couldn't get the audio to perform consistently, would work sometimes and not others. Ubuntu 12.04 Virtual Box URIx 73, Ian..

Hi Jonathon, Real time USB comms can be an issue for VMs under certain conditions. Allstar will work but sometimes the audio can be chopped or stutters. It's not a fault of Allstar but the USB under the vm. I have run Allstar under virtual box for dev purposes and the more load the vm hardware is under, the worst the audio breakup...
