Hi guys (again - sorry) I've just been informed that my node is broadcasting its CW id over the link, and it has raised a few eyebrows! I'm awaiting confirmation that it has been happening since I went over to COR from VOX earlier today (where I had the looping problems). In the meantime, is there anywhere I ought to be looking in configs to try and track down a potential issue? Thanks, James

Thanks for the advice guys - I've built the circuit up, and it does switch the node RX on and off as it should, but it's "crashing" the RX on the radio and not passing audio when it's connected. That's a bit out of the scope for this group, so off to the Motorola forum I go! Thanks! James

Guys, I'm trying to get COR sorted via the Parallell port. I've figured out I need to ground pin 15 in order to turn RX on and off. The problem is, I have a +5V signal from my radio when there is a carrier present. Can anybody point me toward an easy circuit to be able to convert the +5V to a negative in order to turn the RX on and off? If I set ppinvert, it turns the RX on when I ground the pin - so that seems to be the way to go. I've tried googling, but all sorts of stuff comes up! Thanks, James

Right, I have broken out a COR line from my radio (+5v when a carrier is detected). What do I do with it now? I've tried going via a resistor and diode into the PP, pin 15 but the node is permanently locked into RX regardless of any connection. Hi Mike, I have a Simplex node, Hardware is Dell Latitude D600, connected to WLAN at 150mpbs. External ADSL is good, 15580mbps download speed. The problem I have, is when unconnected to any node. When connected, all is good - When station TXing on the link drops their TX, courtesy pip. All good. The Issue is obviously something local, as whenever a signal is RXed locally, the box responds with a courtesy pip and a CWID and then drops carrier. But then proceeds to key up numerous times (anywhere between 6 & 14 at the last count), each key up giving a pip and then dropping carrier. If I go into rpt.conf and set unlinkedct=0, it will still key up multiple times - but no tone. If I set duplex=0, the problem goes away (but I get no courtesy tones - but I still get "function complete" etc ok). Something is looping somewhere.... it's just a case of trying to find it! rpt.conf is pasted below! Duplex

How do I get the node configured so that it is in full duplex to the repeater radio. When someone comes into my node via RF I want there audio repeated locally. All that happens now is you here the courtesy tone when they unkey but while they're talking there is no repeated audio from them out bound from the repeater. Thank You Johnny. The problem is i can't login to the box to do anything because i can't find out the ip address all it shows it this error. am not sure why. i have the install a few times but as the end of the full installation this is what shows. i though the box was bad but i have installed windows and ubuntu os on the box and it all walks great. so am just puzzled as to whats going on. I've had the same problem. Something is wrong with one of the configuration files. Wrong parameter in the configs. Hi Guys, I'm running a Simplex node, and am having trouble getting a courtesy tone when the station on the link unkeys. Everything appears to be set right in rpt.conf, but it doesn't happen. However, if I alter duplex=0 to duplex=1, it will give a courtesy tone after link unkey, and after local unkey - but the tones seem to get stuck in a loop, and I get about 8 pips in a row! I appreciate that running in duplex mode on a simplex link is far from ideal. Is it a limitation of app_rpt that courtesy tones only work with a duplex (ie repeater) setup? Any advice appreciated!
