Speed up DTMF COP 48?
by Tony KT9AC 17 Jun '13

I would like to speed up DTMF sent from COP 48, to send commands to an upstream repeater. Is there a parameter or source code change I can implement? Thanks, Tony

Hi did it for a few months I found that it was asking a lot of bandwith for nothing much. Audio Feed
by Robert Garcia 16 Jun '13

All, Has anyone come up with an elegant solution to snag a copy of the audio streams to and from a repeater in order to send it to Radio Reference without requiring an additional sound card and/or interface? I expect it is possible with Alsa, but honestly my brain turns to mush when reading through their documentation. Robert N5QM

[Scheduler] (in rpt.conf)
by Geoff 15 Jun '13

15 Jun '13

Someone was asking earlier about 'scheduling' an allstar node. Pretty good documentation and examples available on-line. Best I found was: |;[scheduler] ;; Schedule the execution of a macro at a given time. ;;mc = mi h md mn dow ;; ;; mc = macro : a macro number defined in the [macro] stanza ;; mi = minute : 0-59 ;; h = hour : 0-23 ;; md = day of month : 1-31 ;; mn = month : 1-12 ;; dow = day of week : 0 = sunday, 6 = saturday ;; ;1 = 26 11 31 3 6 ; At 11:26am on Saturday, March 31 ;2 = 00 00 * * * ; At midnight every day| | This has a lot of the 'look and feel' of working with the 'chrontab' environment variable in linux, if that helps. -Geoff/W5OMR |

Simplest voting configurating?
by Paul Schlacter 15 Jun '13

15 Jun '13

Good Evening Group, What is the easiest process for taking an out-of-the box ACID installation and configuring an app_rpt and chan_voter to act as a voting server for three RTCMs sitting on a LAN? I know that this is a very broad question, but even for linux and asterisk newbies, there seems to be more than one "right way". Any help will be greatly appreciated, and be going to a charitable cause. Thank you, Paul

ACID installation demanding weird login/password
by Paul Schlacter 14 Jun '13

14 Jun '13

Hello Group, I have been following the instructions on this website for installing ACID very closely, but seem to encounter a strange error. After the computer successfully finished installing phase2.sh, it reboots, and after booting, I am prompted by this screen: CentOS release 5.9 (Final) Kernel 2.6.18-348.6.1.e15 on an i686 TCEP_Allstar login: (TCEP_Allstar is the name of my server) I have tried every combination of possible "login" names and passwords, including my node number and node password, and my root password. Your help and support is greatly appreciated. Have a nice day, Paul

New RIMs ready to ship!!
by Scott Zimmerman 13 Jun '13

13 Jun '13

Repeater-Builder would like to announce a fresh batch of RIM's and accompanying 20 hour sale. After having difficulties getting the first batch ready for Dayton, we ran into other (different) issues with this second batch. I feel we now have all the wrinkles ironed out of the manufacturing process. I currently have enough parts to build a total of 50 RIMs. Hopefully this will be enough for me to keep ahead of demand. :) At present, I have 11 RIMs finished and ready to ship immediately with more available after a bit of rework. Regular pricing on these units is $100 including USPS shipping. For those of you that placed your names on our waiting list at Hamvention, I will honor the $90 per unit price you were quoted at the show. Now for the sale part: I will be away on vacation next week. (I'm leaving Saturday morning per the social coordinator's schedule.) So.... Hello Group, Does anyone have experience running Allstar ACID on an Intel Atom D2500 mini-ITX PC? I have found a very attractive fanless PC on ebay, and want to take the jump, using it as an app_rpt and chan_voter server . Here is a link to the machine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Atom-D2500-Dual-LAN-Dual-COM-Fanless-Mini-ITX… Have a nice day. Paul
