EchoLink and the CLI

When I first setup EchoLink on my HUB node, I could log into the CLI from remote and monitor the activity of the node. I would see that EchoLink would update its databases about once a minute or so and when ever someone on EchoLink connects to the node, I would see what the station was. It actually listed their Call sign. If you looked at the status page for AllStar, it would show all the nodes connected as well as the EchoLink stations with their call sign. I know there is an "undocumented feature" that AllStar does not show the correct EchoLink node number because it could be going through a proxy or relay, But it showed the correct call sign in the status and CLI. I never had success getting the EchoLink call signs to properly announce them selves. I decided to update the SVN to the latest. After I was done, I noticed no activity in the CLI for EchoLink. Also, when an EchoLink station connects, it just says "Connected (hub node #)" I tried changing the verbosity of the CLI, but nothing changed for EchoLink. Im not looking to get the announcement working, although it would be nice, but I would like to get the information in the CLI working again. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I resolve it?

Changing RTCM user from Comcast to Verizon

Hello, I have a remote user who is switching from comcast network to the verizon network, I think all I need to change on my server is his IP address and the IP address on his RTCM and possibly open up his firewall for the new address on his router? Frank

Adding more short cuts and more

Good evening all, Node 2498 located in Ipswich. I know I may have asked a last year but I now have a new Pc and the answer may have been on the old unit. I use *51 through to *59 as short cuts to allow locals who cannot remember long numbers an easy way to connect to regular connections. I would like to know how to add a few more. I did try *052 as a shortcut but no go so if someone has more shortcuts please can you let me know. I also noted I am no longer in the All-Star data base on line so when I connect to another station its show connection but no information. Do I need to open a port to allow this update to happen? Echolink setup

I am trying to setup the echolink portion of an allstar node. I followed the instructions for echolink.conf. I don't see any errors, I know chan_echolink is built in. Is there any way to check logs or what is happening? It doesn't show up on Echolink. FYI, this is a conference (ie. *confname*). I am hoping that works ok? Any suggestions how I can troubleshoot this? Mike Kb8zgl

ERROR[1814] codec_dahdi.c: Failed to open /dev/zap/transcode: No such file or directory I doubt it, but I have gone through my config with 4 others to compare with and it is all right. I even tried the "database show" from the Asterisk command line and it lists nothing except: /dundi/secret /dundi/secretexpiry Mike Kb8zgl

HUB NODE/ VM / ECHOLINK

Hi All, I've setup a hub node in a virtual machine. Allstar connects work very well, but I'm having no success with Echolink. Ports are forwarded correctly and I've reviewed the Echolink.Conf file which is precisely in line with documentation. One error I've noted seems to be a segmentation error: "/usr/sbin/safe_asterisk: line 125: 1921 segmentation failure Asterisk ended with Exit status 139 Asterisk exited on signal 11" Also, I've noted that, since installing the Acid distro yesterday, I can no longer connect to my Echolink "-L" while in Echolink user mode on another machine. I decided to take the VM / HUB approach to familiarize myself with Allstar before implementing my nodes on a separate machine with a URI or FOB. On the virtual machine I also noted an error that appears when I access Devices - Network Adaptors. I receive the error "Failed to access the USB subsystem. Could not find the host USB Proxy Service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). I don't know if this relates to the aforementioned problem with Echolink or not. Any suggestions are appreciated by this newbie. 73 Chris KB1RXA

Multiple nodes through one radio connection

A hypothetical question: Can a radio port, either URI or Piconode, be set up to have the receive side be associated to one node, while the transmit side is associated with another? I believe a single node can have separate receive and transmit ports. But can a single port service two nodes, one transmit-only and the other receive only? This is part of some brainstorming for a multi-operator multi-radio console setup. Thanks, Brett KQ9N
