Ok, I've got a problem with the audio coming into the usb adapter. I've made the circuit according to the schematic not the picture. I was testing it hooked up to a windows computer and I could play a sound clip I recorded and it transmitted the audio. But when I was trying to receive audio from another radio while recording in sound recorder I got nothing. The audio is coming out of the accessory connector (RX Audio Pin 11) on a Motorola Radius M208, could it be that the audio level is too low? Jeff WQEX694 KB1SPH

No TX DTMF on iaxrpt
by Bruce Forestal 10 Jul '09

I've been working with iaxrpt on a laptop running Win2K and a Mac running Fusion/Win2k. I've got TX/RX audio and PTT working on both but I can't seem to get the DTMF to pass over the network to the Asterisk node. I can hear the DTMF tones coming out the local laptop speaker. I am using the alt-number keys to generate DTMF. Also the DTMF keypad does not generate tones although I can see the text appear below the pad so I know at least clicking the pad keys with the mouse is working. Thanks, Bruce Forestal wb6are(a)gmail.com

That would be another great use for the tones, choosing which remote node you would want to connect to. How well does the DSP cut out squelch tails? If I wanted to use the COR I supposed it would be just as easy to use a transistor to get the ground. Should I be worried about someone accidentally hitting that volume down button and sending 3.3v back to the radio? I don't know if there will be a difference, but this time I am making all of the circuits external. I'm using a little radio shack project board instead of trying to cram it all in the usb housing. I left the audio output jack on the board for monitoring/testing, but I removed the mic connector to route the wires through that hole. The usb adapter I got from dealextreme had surface mount jacks, so it was really easy to remove and solder wires to. Jeff WQEX694 KB1SPH P.S. Sorry for the double post, forgot to change the subject in the last one to keep the same thread. > According to the docs...if you are using discriminator you do not > need to hook up COR.. if you DO want to use COR...it requires a pull > to ground as you noted.. by default. Ok, I didn't think to look at the bottom for notes. My next dumb question, for the COS, what is it triggered by? Looking at the diode, keep in mind I'm no expert at electronics, I would think it's triggered by ground. Ground goes on the cathode side right? But testing the connections on my adapter from dealextreme, it has volume buttons, it connects that pin to aprox 3.3v. Is this I/O pin capable of either one? Or am I just really that confused? On my radio I hace ground output for COS or aprox. +5v for CTCSS. I'd rather use the COS if the software can decode and encode the CTCSS for me. Also, does the software support multiple CTCSS tones like a community tone panel? Could I maybe configure multiple nodes (with different tones) and set them to the same usb device? It would be useful for giving groups their own tone, then if I had a problem I could disable that group. Thanks, Jeff

CM108 modification
by Eagle Link Customer Service 08 Jul '09

Ok, I'm modifying a CM108 USB adapter, and though I've done it before I can't remember if whether the picture or the schematics are correct in the pdf file. In the picture, I see that for the mic input (RX Audio) has the twisted (or just soldered) end of the 68K and 470K attached to the 9 pin connector. In the schematic, the twisted end is attached to a capacitor (which isn't in the picture and directions) and then to the mic input on the USB adapter. Can anybody tell me which way is the correct way to hook this up? Thanks, Jeff

modules
by George Csahanin 06 Jul '09

Is there a list anywhere showing what modules/features are not needed for a radio only system? Seems like there are many choices that I can't find explanation for, and keep leaving in. app_directory app_festival cdr_csv func_enum pbx_spool res_features compiler flags, module embedding, etc Lots of stuff that doesn;t look needed, the above just name a few. Thanks GeorgeC W2DB

CW speed, parallel port info need
by George Csahanin 06 Jul '09

This didn't seem like something for MAntis. But...CW speed selections look like 5,20, 20, I changed the middle to 30 to allow for 30 WPM. (I know what part97 says...) But I'm thinking that if I had access to 16 parallel lines somehow I can make an interface to one of my Motorola Micom HF radios, by making an interfac eto the keypad. I keep seeing reference to paralell port, is there any documentation on that anywhere? It could also work if I wanted to, for instance, use a 12 freq Micor for a remote, etc... GeorgeC W2DB

Packages in Limey Linux D201GLY2
by Dale J. Robertson 05 Jul '09

Hello, I would like to use socat on my LL box as a remote virtual com port for a windows application controlling my Kenwood TS2K (in addition to iax-rpt). The pre-built CF image does not appear to include the socat binaries. Do I just edit the socat line in the d201gly2-buildroot.config file (despite the do not edit warning) to include it in a new image build? Also, the readme file makes reference to a PACKAGES file that includes all the packages in a build. I have been unable to locate this file. 73 Dale NV8U
