mr roboto
by Don Russell 04 May '09

04 May '09

I finally got a low profile pci usb 2.0 card for my dual xeon 2.2 server. I installed the version of asterisk/zaptel from the files.tar.gz no errors. asterisk starts, app_rpt module loaded fine. however any audio has a horrible mr roboto sound. the CW ID is at best 5wpm, even though its supposed to be 18. its like there is a 30hz modulation/irq being applied to everything audio wise. tones were off. I am assuming some timer/IRQ issue. the server has 1 usb 1.1 port so I put the fob on there and same thing happens. running gentoo (latest, patches, updates...etc) kernel 2.6.27 (gentoo-r10) the pci card showed up fine and my usb-serial dongle is working on it great. here are the kernel modules running. am I missing anything important. I normally compile in most everything. Module Size Used by ztdynamic 12140 0 zttranscode 9484 0 ztdummy 6992 0 zaptel 185636 3 ztdynamic, zttranscode, ztdummy keyspan 32772 1 usbserial 28904 3 keyspan w9drr ~ # any ideas? Adding your call sign the data stream
by Will Wright 03 May '09

03 May '09

Hello to the group, I 'm not sure if this question been ask, but I will give it a shot. Is it possible to add your call sign in app_rpt data stream when transmission occurs? Reason could be for IDing on digital systems like P25, D-Star or any other new to come digital systems. Another thought, is the Archive of the mailing available? Would like to search or read up on the list about how to stop node connections and disconnections of announcement. Will / W4WWM

Mini-ITX iGoLogic I3368G limey cf image lacks support for either ethernet port
by Jim Richardson 02 May '09

02 May '09

I have received a few of the Mini-ITX Desktop 1.8GHz iGoLogic from Andover Network Liquidators. I booted knoppix from usb cdrom and was able to download and then untar and dd the image to the cf device. The pc boots ok but there is no support for either of the onboard network ports and the USB does not recognize the URI device. Has anyone actually run the cf image cfimg-d201gly2-1.0.6.tar.gz on this hardware? What am I doing wrong? Is there another image I could load onto my cf for this pc. Thanks Jim, WA1SOT AllStarLink #2370 449.975 PL 71.9 Hudson NH USA

Outbound audio?
by Me 01 May '09

01 May '09

I am probably missing something obvious but..... Have outbound audio at the sound fob being used. When in TX mode station at other end receives carrier only. Inbound audio is fine. iaxRpt works. Is there an 'echo' type node which can be used to make adjustments? Any ideas appreciated please. Doug - GM7SVK 2253

by Stephen Rodgers 01 May '09

01 May '09

Please take the time to create an reporter account at: http://mantis.qrvc.com and add any issues you have seen with app_rpt/Asterisk. Additionally, We are looking for more information and/or feedback on Bug 0000014: Problem with telemetry being generated (although no PTT) with duplex=0, and none with duplex=0, link2link = 1. If you are the one who reported this bug, please add information on how to duplicate, (if it is duplicatable) as the description is a bit terse. We would like to also know what telemetry is not keying PTT and when it happens. Steve WA6ZFT

New site look at app-rpt.qrvc.com
by Stephen Rodgers 29 Apr '09

29 Apr '09

app-rpt.qrvc.com has switched to a database-driven website, and has an improved look. We are using Drupal to make the site look better and to make it more accessible. You can comment on the documentation by signing up for an account, and the site is searchable. Most of the documentation has been moved with the exception of a few odds and ends. The old site will remain accessible from test.qrvc.com until I have sucked all of the information out of it then it will be retired. Steve WA6ZFT

SVN Source Code
by Stephen - K1LNX 26 Apr '09

26 Apr '09

For those of us that "roll our own", can we consider the code that is being hosted at the QRVC SVN repository the most up to date? As it stands now I always pull it from Digium's server, but I'll start pulling it from QRVC if this going to be the preferred repository moving forward. Like the new bug tracking system, just signed up for an account :) tnx Stephen -- Stephen Brown - ARS K1LNX Johnson City, TN EM86 http://www.k1lnx.net

Telemetry data going out on a monitor only channel
by Ramesh Dhami (VA3UV) 25 Apr '09

25 Apr '09

Hi Steve, Jim and all; I was connected to a node in receive only mode and found that the telemetry audio was being echoed out on the node (to which I had connected in monitor mode).... now both nodes are local on the same box (although this shouldn't really matter). Cheers, Ramesh.
