USB Interfaces
by John Scoggin 16 May '09

16 May '09

Has anyone tried using Tigertronics' Signalink USB with App_Rpt? What I am really looking for is a multi-radio interface, like an 8- or 16-port PCI card that doesn't cost a small fortune. :-) Perhaps I could talk Tigertronics into selling a bare-board kit. 73, john ____________________________________________ John K Scoggin, Jr. W3JKS/AAT3BF/AAM3EDE/AAA9SL "WLMM - Sic faciunt omnes (Winlink 2000, Everyone is doing it.)" app_rpt.c version 0.179
by Stephen Rodgers 13 May '09

13 May '09

Version 0.179 of app_rpt is available from: http://qrvc.com/viewvc/projects/allstar/astsrc-1.4.23-pre/trunk/asterisk/ap… Fixed: 1. Mantis bug 0000011 pad test broken 2. Mantis bug 0000004 out-of-band telemetry sent when link in monitor Added: Adjustable gains for irlp and echolink in rpt.conf node stanza. Testing required to see if it resolves Mantis bug 0000001. Key values for rpt.conf follow (which are also the defaults): irxgain=-10 ; IRLP receive gain adjustment ; Note: Gain is in db-volts (20logVI/VO) itxgain=10 ; IRLP transmit gain adjustment ; Note: Gain is in db-volts (20logVI/VO) erxgain=-3 ; Echolink receive gain adjustment ; Note: Gain is in db-volts (20logVI/VO) etxgain=3 ; Echolink transmit gain adjustment ; Note: Gain is in db-volts (20logVI/VO) Unfortunately, the varying audio level problem is still not resolved. chan_irlp experimental reflector calling added
by Stephen Rodgers 11 May '09

11 May '09

1. Download the latest chan_irlp from viewvc: http://qrvc.com/viewvc/projects/allstar/astsrc-1.4.23-pre/trunk/asterisk/ch… Compile and install 2. You will also need to update and add 2 script files in /home/irlp/scripts: update: update add: experimental_call A tarball with these latest scripts can be fetched from viewvc: http://qrvc.com/viewvc/projects/allstar/acid/trunk/irlp-centos-dist.tgz?roo… Extract the tarball into a temporary directory (not /home/irlp !), then copy the two scripts over to /home/irlp/scripts -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: chan_irlp Date: Mon, 11 May 2009 07:24:01 -0700 From: Stephen Rodgers <hwstar(a)rodgers.sdcoxmail.com> To: Ramesh Dhami (VA3UV) <Ramesh(a)va3uv.com> References: <4A033B7D.7050209(a)va3uv.com> <4A08071C.7040304(a)va3uv.com> Ramesh, Yes, experimental reflectors can be called with the latest version of chan_irlp. trunking
by Eagle Link Customer Service 07 May '09

Just out of curiosity, can this be used as a trunking controller at all? What are the possibilities of developing it into a LTR trunking controller? Also, a little off the topic, but does anybody know of any kits to build your own LTR controllers? Jeff

Re: [App_rpt-users] mr roboto
by Don Russell 05 May '09

I hadn't played in that area of the kernel config in a really long time. I try and keep that stuff set to defaults. The only thing I changed was the processor type to xeon. There are so many options in there! The internal timer was set to 250hz.. recompiling now. I will stop by the tower site this evening and try it out. I bet that will fix it. Thanks, Don > To: w9drr(a)live.com > Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] mr roboto > From: jjudge(a)uci.edu > Date: Mon, 4 May 2009 14:19:05 +0000 > > I had that same issue with a 2.6.26 debian kernel. Zaptel needs a 1 kHz internal timing source (2.6 kernels have one built in) but some distros (debian and, apparently, gentoo, too) come set at a lower freq by default. Assuming this is the issue, and it sounds like it is, you'll have to recompile your kernel with the 1 kHz setting. In the kernel source's menuconfig the setting is under processor type and features. > > Good luck! > Jamison KI6VCE > Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry > > -----Original Message----- > From: Don Russell <w9drr(a)live.com> > > Date: Mon, 4 May 2009 09:02:53 > To: <app_rpt-users(a)qrvc.com> > Subject: [App_rpt-users] mr roboto > > > _______________________________________________ > App_rpt-users mailing list > App_rpt-users(a)qrvc.com > http://qrvc.com/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users > > _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail® goes with you. http://windowslive.com/Tutorial/Hotmail/Mobile?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_HM_Tutoria…

wider bandwidth for audio
by Don Russell 04 May '09

04 May '09

I have been doing some local experimentation with some digital modes like DRM, psk250, MFSK32, ..etc The only issue is there is not enough bandwidth through asterisk to pass them so we are using another repeater. I hate not being able to use mine as it has way more coverage. I am wondering if there is anyway to get the local repeat audio to bypass any processing by asterisk and simply go straight through the fob. I am currently using the COR line to trigger the USB. If not, I am thinking of just taking the COR signal from the rx to pull in a relay that will bridge the rx audio to the tx, and key the tx. I will still leave the COR, rx audio, tx audio, and ptt still wired to the fob so it gets all the signals it needs. set duplex=1 so it app_rpt doesn't repeat, yet still sends the Courtesy tone. That should bypass the fob for local audio, yet still allow it to send ID's, link audio, telemetry...etc What do you guys think? Anyone try anything close to this? Or did you just use a simple hardware controller w/ an IRLP/echolink port?
