stats page, stat post obsessing
by Don Russell 27 May '09

27 May '09

can't get to stats.allstarlink.org page. also my node is unable to get there and its cause multiple, multiple instances of wget to appear. I don't think the statpost code is handling failures to get to the stats page very well. its kind of obsessing over retrys and not killing of the children. I killed off all of them just before I loaded the browser and went to hotmail to send this. I just checked and this is what I got. ps -ax output: 18197 ? S 0:00 /usr/bin/wget -q --output-document=/dev/null http://stats.allstarlink.org/uhandler.php?node=2090&time=1243390510&s 18202 ? S 0:00 sleep 600 18224 ? Once a match is found, its over! The function decoder will match on the shortest DTMF command first. All digits which follow will be directed to the "method" for further decoding until the method thinks it has enough digits to do something useful. The function method is the numerical value for the class of functions (e.g. COP) as documented in app_rpt.c This is how the autopatch, and internet linking commands work with variable length node numbers and phone numbers. (And it is the only way something with a variable number of digits can work). To use the function decoder effectively: 1. Make sure your most used functions are short digit sequences, and your least used functions are long digit sequences. 2. Make sure your function table does not have any short DTMF functions overriding longer DTMF functions. Steve WA6ZFT

DTMF codes to activate function
by Matt Beasant 26 May '09

26 May '09

Hi, Just as a heads up to anyone new reading this and learning about app_rpt and also as a question to the more experienced node owners out there, I have noticed a little niggle with the DTMF tone sequences used to activate functions on app_rpt. Here's the scenario: In my rpt.conf I have a function: 94 = cop, something or other All is fine until I try and add a command 941 to do something else. The new code wont work and app_rpt seems to ignore the extra digit on the end and just activates the function that is associated with the code 94. I'm not sure if this is really a bug or not but it certainly had me teased for a good few hours recently when I was adding some new functions to my node. I was expecting code 941 to work but it just wasnt - I was testing a new feature which had been added and I wasnt sure if I had busted the feature or something else had gone wrong! I changed the code to 95 and all worked as expected! Just something to be aware of really I guess unless its an easy fix for the app? Cheers, Matt G4RKY Node 2250

Testing requested: Version 0.182 of app_rpt.c supports a link activity timer. The link activity timer is documented here: http://app-rpt.qrvc.com/node/93 Download app_rpt.c version 0.182 from here: http://qrvc.com/viewvc/projects/allstar/astsrc-1.4.23-pre/trunk/asterisk/ap… This is to resolve Mantis feature request 0000010. debugging chan_irlp
by James Nessen 26 May '09

26 May '09

are there any cli commands to enable extra debugging for chan_irlp? I have recently noticed while connected to an irlp station that after x amount of time (varies), something happens that causes asterisk to crash. I normally notice this behavior while someone is talking, their voice stream will be fine, then start to chop up and then silence (crash). So far, I have noticed this behavior on IRLP 9456 (UNCOMP). I am running Limey Linux (1.0.7?) on the i3386. I will leave it dialed up over night to an ADPCM station to see if the problem persists there as well. I have noticed something similar. It seems to start with the cw id being sent but it repeats the id over and over and eventually the audio from IRLP begins to chop. saw this on Chan_IRLP 024,025 and 026 and app_rpt 0179,0181. At liest I noticed it until I my IRLP node got banned! Doh! Jon VA3RQ > are there any cli commands to enable extra debugging for chan_irlp? Hi Guys, is there a way to disable a Chan_irlp node from asterisk/App_Rpt? Is there a way to permanently remove a n IRLP node from App_RPT? Thanks Jon VA3RQ

Rx audio delay, rx squelch hysteresis
by Jamison Judge 26 May '09

26 May '09

Hey Guys, I was wondering if there was a way to set hysteresis for the rx squelch setting while tuning the audio levels for usbradio. We've found that when adjusting the carrier squelch level there isn't one value that both passes accaptable signals and blocks noise without serious chopping. Also, does the software implement any kind of an audio delay with the COR detection to eliminate squelch tails on the receive side? If so, is the delay adjustable? Thanks a lot, Jamison KI6VCE Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
