[OT] Surreal AllStar registration

Despite the good will of Tim to help, I was unable to get in touch with AllStar people that could help me complete the registration process. This has been started on February 16 2012 and so far nobody deemed necessary to even contact me. I would like to evaluate AllStar to create a fault tolerant /cloud voip net to help in case of natural disasters (www.era.eu / http://www.rnre.eu) in Italy. This is my last attempt to ask for help. I don't know why is so difficult to get in touch with someone that could tell me what is wrong (or if I am doing something wrong). In either case, please, *please* AllStar staff people(Jim?), be mercy, do drop me a line and tell me if is/is_not possible to get me out of this agony. Thanks in advance. Well, for some reason, asterisk wasn't loaded. I looked at the messages file and it had dies due to a loop trying to load something (I'll have to go look again). I then restarted and poof, I now show as *green* in the allstar nodes list. hmmm Alan

Yep, verified that the allstar port is forwarded... I only forwarded udp, do I need to also forward tcp? Ok, you guys may make me find a cheap usb or sata CD-rom. But before I go there. I think I have an install. On Debian no less. It had some issues, I had to add some includes to the build sources and I had to cobble up the scripts because I can't see the dl.allstarlink.org site (just used local copies after I pulled over the files from my other computer on my cell phone, which could see that site). I need to check a few things, but it downloaded my configs from the allstar site (not the dl.allstar one). *so* assuming I have a working NODE (HUGE ASSUMPTION). I show up in the node list, but my call is backlit it Yellow (W7QO). and I don't show Green in the Node number. What are the simple things I can check for? and what does the above colors mean? Where to start?

I finally got my IRLP node fully functional, now it's time to move on to allstar, etc. BUT I'm totally stuck. I tried to install Xipar and it's built on such an old linux platform that it won't work on my current hardware (Atom based motherboard). so I decided to try the ACID install just to see where that gets me and I can't do that either - A) because I don't want to put a CD on my Atom board, and B) even though I have a bootable usb stick with ACID on it, about half way through the install it wants to go back to a cdrom to get a file :(. And to make matters worse, the dl.allstarlink.org site is MIA in the etherverse. so as a last ditch effort, I decided to try a manual install. Confirmed it something with my cable modem and DNS... I'll work around it I think with my phone connection... (at least hope :) ). Server Configuration issue

Hello; I have 3 servers listed under my callsign KD8B, but one ( Median) has not been commissioned awaiting rural broadband install... I need to commission it and while I can see it in the web interface list, when I try to run the install config script, that server does not appear in the install script list. My other 2 do.. I do not see how to delete it.. I have looked at it and it appears to be configured correctly with a repeater configured albeit maybe incomplete.. Would this repeater config maybe influence it?or possibly stop it from appearing in the install list?or is this an issue because I configured it a couple years ago and never set it up?? I can make a new server .. but do not know how to delete the other. help?? Doug KD8B
