In cases other than AllStar, I have seen situations where the IP address changes (due to dynamic/dhcp re-assignment) and the site LAN device(s) continue to ARP CACHE the old IP-to-MAC address pair. While AllStar uses periodic IAX registrations to keep the ALlStar 'network' aligned, these re-registrations would have zero affect on local ARP CACHE entries (and their timeout), if ARP CACHE is your issue. You need the commands to display the ARP table on EACH and ALL of the devices on your LAN path between the node and the internet, as well as on the Linux node host itself. Linux command, # arp -v As a shot in the dark, you may want to confirm that your wireless router's firmware is the most up to date there is. Cycling the interface can clear the ARP Entries. you can DOWN the interface, pause, and UP the interface. Don't DOWN a REMOTE interface you're doing the remote connection through. You need a small script to down, sleep, and up that'll run in the background (&) so when you get disconnected, you can re-connect when the script UPs the interface. Again, I don't know if this is your issue, but I have seen ARP tables MIS-matches cause these types of issues. This is usually an ISP issue. Happens to me all the time with my crummy cable ISP. Usually have to restart the cable modem and router to get it playing nice again. DMZ or not, your router or the remote router could be blocking traffic. What is wrong with my node?

Why is this happening? See below..... The internet is working just fine from the site. I logged into the node and the router remotely at the moment. The node repeater is in the DMZ. I can ping google.com so the DNS is working. This node not being able to re-connect or connect is really not cool! What is going on here? Thanks! Are you saving the configuration after you make changes? Limey Linux loads everything from the CF card into ram when it boots. It works on Limey Linux. We're using it in a number of nodes. Hello all. Does anyone know what the parallel port is called in dev folder in limey linux if its even available? Im trying to use my parallel port for keying and COR for my radio. Thanks Harold

EchoLink and the CLI

When I first setup EchoLink on my HUB node, I could log into the CLI from remote and monitor the activity of the node. I would see that EchoLink would update its databases about once a minute or so and when ever someone on EchoLink connects to the node, I would see what the station was. It actually listed their Call sign. If you looked at the status page for AllStar, it would show all the nodes connected as well as the EchoLink stations with their call sign. I know there is an "undocumented feature" that AllStar does not show the correct EchoLink node number because it could be going through a proxy or relay, But it showed the correct call sign in the status and CLI. I never had success getting the EchoLink call signs to properly announce them selves. I decided to update the SVN to the latest. After I was done, I noticed no activity in the CLI for EchoLink. Also, when an EchoLink station connects, it just says "Connected (hub node #)" I tried changing the verbosity of the CLI, but nothing changed for EchoLink. Im not looking to get the announcement working, although it would be nice, but I would like to get the information in the CLI working again. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I resolve it?

Changing RTCM user from Comcast to Verizon

Hello, I have a remote user who is switching from comcast network to the verizon network, I think all I need to change on my server is his IP address and the IP address on his RTCM and possibly open up his firewall for the new address on his router? Frank

Adding more short cuts and more

Good evening all, Node 2498 located in Ipswich. I know I may have asked a last year but I now have a new Pc and the answer may have been on the old unit. I use *51 through to *59 as short cuts to allow locals who cannot remember long numbers an easy way to connect to regular connections. I would like to know how to add a few more. I did try *052 as a shortcut but no go so if someone has more shortcuts please can you let me know. I also noted I am no longer in the All-Star data base on line so when I connect to another station its show connection but no information. Do I need to open a port to allow this update to happen? Echolink setup

I am trying to setup the echolink portion of an allstar node. I followed the instructions for echolink.conf. I don't see any errors, I know chan_echolink is built in. Is there any way to check logs or what is happening? It doesn't show up on Echolink. FYI, this is a conference (ie. *confname*). I am hoping that works ok? Any suggestions how I can troubleshoot this? Mike Kb8zgl
