Inbound TLB Connections

All, I have tested connectivity from app_rpt to tlb and the connections appear to work just fine, however forming connections in the other direction, from tlb to app_rpt, fail. Below is the output of asterisk when a connection attempt is made. Can anybody provide some guidance on how to make this work properly? Allstare Node PC

Hello All. I would like to know if anyone has done it or will it work. If your Node PC dies can you take the HD out of the old/dead PC and just plug it into the new PC and start it up will it work or will you have to reinstall Acid all over again. Vince VE3ELB

URI Interface setup for dummies 101????

I am relatively new to this project as I have successfully loaded ACID onto my laptop and have successfully logged in. I have been assigned a NODE #29643 and have made the appropriate server configuration. My interface is ready as I am receiving a rapidly blinking GREEN LED. However, I don’t know how to set up the computer to interface my Yaesu FT 350-AR with the computer. I see on my computer screen is [root@N3WVH ~]# .What program do I add at this point to configure my radio? I feel like I am floating into the unknown! HELP! Sent from Windows Mail

Allmon remote connect(2)

I now have everything working thanks to Mr.Murphy. !! I knew it would be a simple error and it was. After putting everything down in writing in my previous post I checked what I had written against what I had(thought) I had configured and found that the [ user ] in [ Allmon.ini ] did not match the [ user ] in [ Manager.ini ]. EMI/RFI issue

Greetings All, While thinking of a way I can turn my node into a portable allstar node, it has been discovered the computer I'm using, generates RFI/EMI over the DC power connection. The setup is as follows presently, which has zero *known* EMI/RFI issues. The radio is powered with an older linear 3A regulated power supply, which a parallel connection to a 12V 18Ah battery. All leads are kept short, under two feet. The radio is kept on 5W. The computer has a 12Vdc connection, and it's presently using an ac/dc SMPS, one that can be bought on eBay for about $10. Both of these are plugged into the same outlet strip, and as stated, zero discovered EMI/RFI issues. The radio audio connections to the computer have the center conductors isolated with a 10nF cap. Just as soon as I decide to power the computer from the battery, the radio has noise across every tunable frequency. Even if I disconnect the radio completely from the node, there is noise on the radio. From what is apparent to me, the noise is coming from the computers internal power supply section, riding the power wires back to the battery, and then to the radio. I see there are plenty of EMI/RFI filters I can purchase. However, I'd like to maintain the Amateur Radio Spirit of creation for this case, so I'd like some pointers on what I should test for, and construct some EMI/RFI filters. I have seen there are common mode and differential mode chokes filters, and some filters have both kinds of chokes. I'm not really sure the difference, besides the way the components are installed in the circuit. Radio Tune with Simpleusb

I followed the instructions at ohnosec.ord/drupal.node/193 to switch over to simpleusb on a ACID node. Up to the delete /etc/init.d/usbradio and the touch /etc/init.d/simpleusb which neither was located there. So I went and reinstalled ACID and changed my Allstart node config to reflect using simpleusb. This is a private node that I am running so after the install I changed all the conf files to reflect my private node. Then I went in to the Asterisk cli to tune everything up. There I ran into a problem there is no simpleusb-tune-menu or radio tune commands. What I am missing here? How do you tune the radio with simpleusb? I typed Help as the Asterisk cli and it shows nothing for any sort of tune. Thank you, Charles (kc5dgc)

Allmon Improvements

Recent changes to Allmon: 1. An issue with Allmon has been the polling interval. If set too short polls trigger before the response from a previous poll causing no data to display. If set too long Allmon is not as responsive as it could be. I discovered a javascript programing technique call long polling which has solved this problem. No mater how fast or slow your server is, Allmon will now do the right thing. This is a must have update. 2. A somewhat less important update is an orange background color for connecting nodes. App_rpt permanent connections occasionally go into Connecting status if the network drops. Sometimes users don't notice that and wonder why a link isn't working when "it shows on Allmon". Based on user request the background color of nodes in connecting status will turn orange. Can't miss those now! Nodes still have a green background color when receiving.
