Hi I have read the http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/21 pages but could do with a simple tutorial on how to send a command to a remote node I guess its something like *4 <local_node> # <remote_node> *<remote_command> This is just a guess I want to with dtmf on rf send command *51 to a remote node while transmitting to my local RF node can that be done and how ? Auto conjesting

Can anyone help me understand what is going on when a node I have will not connect to another node. The reason in the CLI is due to slow response auto conjesting. Sometimes to get around it to keep my links up I will connect from the opposite node. The best I can tell is I've run traceroute from both ends and the routes are not identical so something on the path of the node is slowing it down in one direction. Although I'm not really sure. Ken, Yes, The RPi2 can be used as a low cost node to run a couple of radios / repeaters If you want to build it, rather then a 1 size fits all image, you can download the scripts you need from: <https://github.com/N4IRS/AllStar> This list is just fine to discuss ARM based AllStar installs. There are quite a few users here running RPi1, RPi2 and other ARM based boards. If you would rather use a X86 board, there is a Debian alternative to Acid on the way. We were running on our Gentoo server which at the time was a real effort to set up and get working even with a lot of help. Years later we're still struggling to even get our backups running on the new hardware. (Recovering database etc etc). With the release of the Raspberry Pi 2 we are wondering if this might be a cheap way to get our node back up again by using a cheap separate stand alone device. To this end I have a few questions. - Is the Raspberry Pi 2 powerful enough to do the job? - If so how many URI dongles can it handle OK? - Is there an easy install script available for Raspberry Pi? - In the past we have had issues with PTT lockups causing 3x burnt out radio's over time. I see a different interface available now. (RB-USB-RIM) http://www.repeater-builder.com/products/usb-rim.html It looks to have a few better features like PTT lock protection. Is this a good compatible device compared to our old DMK URI's we were running? Any other feedback / comments? - Does the RB-USB-RIM and the DMK-URI have the same pinouts on the DB25? (Looks like No!?) - Could the 8x GPIO pins be used as serial (TTL level RS232) ports for things like CAT control etc? - Could the RB-USB-RIM 's Cmedia Sound IC be uses as a packet radio modem (Another project, Not for All_Star) using the AX25 Linux libraries? - Has anyone seen the AU$15 DRA818V/U radio modules? Any comments on these? We are looking at the possibility of using these. They offer 1 Watt on 2mtrs or 70cm's (model dependent), Pre/De-emphasis can be switched off + frequency agile via AT serial commands. http://www.dorji.com/pro/modules/Audio_voice_transceiver.html - Is there any Digital Voice support (Codec2 etc) available yet in All_Star? - Lastly we would like to link two sites via a 5.8Ghz WiFi network link for a UHF CB radio repeater. PL decode

OK guys a couple questions, first can I do PL decode in rpt with the simple usb interface? How is that configured? Or can someone send me a sample config? Second is, using the created config files for asterisk in the initial install of the RB Pi2 image from hamvoip, everything is working except the echolink side. It's like it's stuck in monitor mode or something, it connects, you can hear the activity from the allstar side coming out on the echolink system, but we can not TX back into allstar. I cannot figure that one out. I have a second Pi2 setup with allstar and echolink also but it works fine, I dumped the original config files off my old system on that one, so it's something i'm apparently missing in the config that I cannot seem to find. CM108 fobs with potted chips.

I have a CM108 fob with a potted chip. It does have 2 LEDS and 2 pushbutton switches on it. Is it possible to connect the COR lead to one of the pushbutton switches and get PTT from one of the LEDS? CM108 Fob Interfaces

I am using modified CM108 sound fobs on my system. I also use simpleusb and do not do DSP carrier detect. One of them has COR that is active low and it works no problem. The other one , the radio COR is only active high. The active high is 5V. In the simpleusb.conf I have it set for carrierfrom=usb but it doesn't work. Does the active COR voltage need to be more than 5V? Thanks Jamey WR4JW

I have added a second node to my server and have everything just about done but ran into something I didn't have an answer for. In simpleusb_tune27981.conf I have the following: [usb27981] ; name=usb27981 ; devicenum=0 devstr=1-1 In simpleusb_tune41903.conf I have the following: [usb41903] ; name=usb41903 ; devicenum=0 devstr=1-1 When I show the USB devices I get: [root@JWAllstar ~]# lsusb Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0d8c:000c C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0d8c:000c C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter In simpleusb_tune41903... shouldn't the devstr=1-1 be different? If so, how do I figure out what it should be? weather scripts broken

After a restart on my BBB my weather scripts broken. Tried running the config again to no avail. I get mv: cannot stat ‘/tmp/tts/audio3894.ul’: No such file or directory as the output of running the script that is in crontab manually. tmp directory has green highlight when ls is issued. Not sure what that is but it looks like the script doesn't have ability to write to tmp folder. I sent touch testfile to the directory manually with no issue. Any ideas?? Thanks Greg

OK but to answer you first question - yes you could probably go up to 15 or 16 volts but 13.8 or 12 or anything in between or less would be fine. You aren't going to get an 8V P-P swing with 12V though. Is it 8V P-P or RMS? Why so high?
