CM108 fobs with potted chips.

I have a CM108 fob with a potted chip. It does have 2 LEDS and 2 pushbutton switches on it. Is it possible to connect the COR lead to one of the pushbutton switches and get PTT from one of the LEDS? CM108 Fob Interfaces

I am using modified CM108 sound fobs on my system. I also use simpleusb and do not do DSP carrier detect. One of them has COR that is active low and it works no problem. The other one , the radio COR is only active high. The active high is 5V. In the simpleusb.conf I have it set for carrierfrom=usb but it doesn't work. Does the active COR voltage need to be more than 5V? Thanks Jamey WR4JW

I have added a second node to my server and have everything just about done but ran into something I didn't have an answer for. In simpleusb_tune27981.conf I have the following: [usb27981] ; name=usb27981 ; devicenum=0 devstr=1-1 In simpleusb_tune41903.conf I have the following: [usb41903] ; name=usb41903 ; devicenum=0 devstr=1-1 When I show the USB devices I get: [root@JWAllstar ~]# lsusb Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0d8c:000c C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0d8c:000c C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter In simpleusb_tune41903... shouldn't the devstr=1-1 be different? If so, how do I figure out what it should be? weather scripts broken

After a restart on my BBB my weather scripts broken. Tried running the config again to no avail. I get mv: cannot stat ‘/tmp/tts/audio3894.ul’: No such file or directory as the output of running the script that is in crontab manually. tmp directory has green highlight when ls is issued. Not sure what that is but it looks like the script doesn't have ability to write to tmp folder. I sent touch testfile to the directory manually with no issue. Any ideas?? Thanks Greg

OK but to answer you first question - yes you could probably go up to 15 or 16 volts but 13.8 or 12 or anything in between or less would be fine. You aren't going to get an 8V P-P swing with 12V though. Is it 8V P-P or RMS? Why so high? DMK URI/URIx 6dB 12 VDC range?

I'm wondering if the URI/URIx 6dB 12 VDC (pin 25) range will handle 13.8 (14?) VDC that powers my radio. What is the margin? Looks like the op amp will handle 15.5 VDC. Am I missing something? Thanks, Bob kk6ecm Sent from iPad

Odd behavior

I've had a BBB node (with DMK URI) connected to a GM300 for days now for testing. I have the PTT line from the URI disabled in case anything goes haywire, I don't want to TX into the local repeater. Well today it went haywire. I looked over and saw the URI was TXing, but there is nothing connected to the node and telem is turned off, so it should never TX. I have a SIP connection set up so I can dial directly into the node, and when I do I get a fast busy signal. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the SIP connection. I unplugged the DB25 from the URI and connected an adapter that goes to a set if powered speakers to see what it was TXing, and it was the same, a fast busy signal! It plays for about 10 seconds, then unkeys and silence for 2 and repeats. Anyone ever see this behavior? I can SSH in and get into asterisk. There is no debug output for core or rpt. If I issue a command via the CLI, it actually plays over the busy signal. I tried issuing the disconnect all nodes command and it didn't make a difference. I haven't reset anything in case anyone has some debug commands I can run to trace this down. With something like this, it really casts doubts on whether this system is ready for use in the field. I mean locking up is one thing, but a problem like this, where it resets every few seconds would just kill our repeater network as the timeout timer would not come into play at all. It was working fine this morning and I haven't touched it since. Regards, Mike Montalvo, KF7MBK

The upstream Internet provider (AT&T) is having a major, region wide outage that started about 2PM EDT on Tuesday and is still down. AT&T reports a major fiber cut near Greensboro, NC, about 175 miles NW of Wilmington.
