USB EMI?

I had to restart asterisk after I got this message and my DMK went batty keying the transmitter at some crazy rate sounding like CW. Dec 23 22:07:13 WA3DSP_Allstar kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling... Curious about the EMI? because I was operating 75 meters phone 600 watts at the time this happened. The server and USB to DMK cable are in the basement well away from the antenna so I don't know if it is a coincidence or not. Anyone else ever seen this? New Node Numbers (4XXXX)

We have nearly "run-out" of node numbers staring with the digit "2", and will soon be issuing node number starting with the digit "4". These will all be 5 digit numbers ("4", followed by 4 more digits). If anyone happens to be using this series in their "private number space" (contrary to system "standards"), please send me a private email, and we will attempt to accommodate you in the best way we can. Same thing here... I don't have a basement so therefore, not the luxury of separation by distance. I can run 100w on 40m and not bother it. Turning the amp on kills it. Any power on 75m and the little URI throws its hands in the air in a suggested moment of surrender. I did find you only need to unplug and replug the USB line to reset it. I have uploaded my custom greeting to the sever and thinks appear to work I have the Cron job running correctly as i see an out put of what came in but in webmin setting it up i don' t know how to set it up to dump the info into the directory. iaxRpt and wine

I have been running iaxRpt under wine on my OpenSuse 12.2 laptop and it works great. Recently I decided it was time to get a bigger hdd and upgrade to OpenSuse 13,1. With this setup iaxRpt is very unstable and crashes often, the receive audio is OK, but transmit audio is some of the strangest sounding stuff I have ever heard. Don't think I have words to adequately describe it. The old setup is Wine 1.5.6 and the Linux kernel is 3.4.33. The new one is Wine 1.7.2 and the Linux kernel is 3.11. iaxRpt in both cases is 1.01.46, Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. Ed W8VT Nodes 27849, 29496

Was thinking it would be the cases. I want to have 2 xmiter on same freq on each side of the mont-royal in Montréal . The MSR2000 is a crystal controlled radio. For simulcast you need to have a synthesized exciter that will except external reference from a GPS disciplined clock. RTCM error messages fixed

A big thanks to all that helped me in the last few days, Paul, Michael, Mark's (both), and Sam, and with earlier issues, if I hadn't have already thanked the group, I am now ! .. BTW: the error was fixed by having the rxchannel="radio/usb28842" changed to "voter/28842" in rpt.conf and removing the word "Master" from the line "client1 = pass1,transmit,master" in voting.conf (simple interface, non voting use) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from my family to all of yours, ... multicast with msr2000

Hi, my vhf repeater is an msr2000. with a100 watt full duty PA. I could have a second msr2000 with exact same exciter/receiver board but different PA. First would a msr2000 be a good candidat for multicasting? And does the fact that we would use a different PA at each site a problem?

The thing is that I own a web site hosting company and I don't have itty bitty servers. They are all dual processor with servers boards that don't always have IDE or SATA drive connectors. They are intended to use add-on SATA RAID controllers. I may have an old Promise SATA 150 controller but I'll have to look at the SD drive requirements. I really have no reason against a SD drive other than the hardware I already have on hand and not wanting to spend anymore money. My server will be blessed to be in an actual data center with full time APC/UPS and backups. This brings up another point - has anyone got a distro that puts Asterisks in a Virtuozzo or OPenVZ container? OpenVZ is free and allows easy backups and container migration if a server goes south. Perhaps I can help the group develop a distro like this if there isn't already one.
