Using the URI for station control

Folks, I apologize up front for asking an off topic (app_rpt) question. Has anyone used the URI for station control using programs like ham radio deluxe? Background: I have a Windows 7 desktop that I use for SIP (Eyebeam Softphone), Skype, etc. I also have my station radios such as Elecraft, Kenwood TS-520, Motorola Maxtrac, etc. I would like to have an interface, like the DMK URI, to connect to each radio and software like Ham Radio Deluxe to select the radio. I would like to use my USB headset connected to my computer to talk on the radios. Maybe PTT from a soft key on my keyboard? Hello, I'm new to this and looking for some advice. I had one node running OK then added another and have now found that the first ( lowest number ) node does not now appear in the node database. I had followed the instructions and altered the extensions/iax/rpt/usbradio.conf files. I can connect to either node via Webtransceiver or via R/T and can connect one node to the other. Checking shows that there is the following sent every minute !! Hi all, I am unable to access the web front end and did try to use the lost password option only to be told a lost password was already in operation. I now worry that my account has been compromised and did email the Staff@ account but no reply as yet. Can I have some help please. I also asked 4-6 weeks ago that my No longer in Data base on the All-Star update screen. I know this disappeared off the update system back in May 2012 and would like help getting my node listed on the DB update list please who best to ask please? Code cleanup

I am interested in making some code cleanup changes, as well as some other changes, to app_rpt.c. I know Jim Dixon is the primary maintainer, but are there others who also have commit access to the source, or is there a developer's group that I should be on? Most of my changes are surrounding removal of repetitive code, security, and adding a few new features (like broadcasting of who is transmitting, not just where the audio stream is directly coming from on a per-hop basis.) --Michael

Ok, looks like I have it up and running. All the audio levels are ok now and it's transmitting/receiving. The issue that slaps me right in the face is my own audio that I hear when I unkey. Loop prevention?

I am using app_rpt under Allstar, as I suspect many others are. I know I can connect to one or more nodes. What happens if A <-> B, B <-> C, and A <-> C? Would this cause some sort of loop, or is this handled at the IAX2 protocol level? In particular, I am wondering if it would create any sort of message storm, where the link-level app_rpt messages that are sent over the IAX2 connection would just be sent constantly... --Michael
