Which method should I use? There's not really much to backup. I'd use a cron job to rsync the /etc/asterisk directory which is where the configs are stored. This way it's not going to copy anything unless it's changed. If you want to get advanced with rsync, it's easy to make it keep daily backups with hard links over the last n days. 73's -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2018 21:17:46 -0700 From: Tim Sawyer <tisawyer(a)gmail.com> To: Users of Asterisk app_rpt <app_rpt-users(a)lists.allstarlink.org> Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] Back up Asterisk Message-ID: <CAG3ht9uDrakTgksdfC=N4hZcvR_bucEj2FiUbkVpE3XJZaSBzQ(a)mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" There is a backup system in app_rpt. Upgrade from Dial to ASL distro.
by k7ilo1＠gmail.com 25 Jul '18

25 Jul '18

So this has probably already been answered and forgive me if it has. I have a problem with reading through the crap load of emails I have. And I mean a CRAP load. 1st. What's the advantage (differences) to moving to the ASL distro that's posted compared to the DIAL distro? 2nd. Is there an upgrade path from the 1 to the other? 3rd. I do have a hard drive where I installed the ASL version and called myself importing my settings. My node is working well as a standard repeater but I am not registering with the ALLSTAR network and the node is not responding to ANY DTMF commands, including status, id, or any other local commands. It transmits periodically like its id'ing but no sound. My audio is setup because ive used the echo function and that's working properly and audio, deviation and all of the cool repeater settings are clean Where do I need to start looking for these couple of issues? I am back online now because I put the DIAL release hard drive back in just to be accessible for the time being. Thanks all Harold K7ILO

Pierre, You will need the Microchip's PICkit3 In-Circuit Debugger/Programmer and the MPLAB IDE programming software. Both are available from MicroChip. https://www.microchip.com/Developmenttools/ProductDetails/PartNo/PG164130 This is a very helpful Wiki that will help get started. https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/RTCM_Client Mark Guibord Micro-Node International From: App_rpt-users [mailto:app_rpt-users-bounces@lists.allstarlink.org] On Behalf Of Pierre Martel Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2018 5:08 PM To: APP RPT Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] DSPIC33FJ128GP802 programing Forgot to say that I have acces to a chipkit3 (from a friend) Le dim. 22 juil. 2018 à 20:07, Pierre Martel <petem001(a)gmail.com> a écrit : I am building myself a few voter board and I have no clue how to program the pic in it. Private Node - Connection Failed
by Jim Aspinwall No1PC 22 Jul '18

22 Jul '18

Good news - some struggle over. I just built two fresh ASL nodes, updated, upgraded - private for now. Now I want one of my working ASL/public nodes to also be accessible as a private node. I assume for both the existing public node and new separate private node all I need to do is... In /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf on the existing node, add lines: [nodes] ; 1085 is the new/added private node number for existing public node1085 = radio(a)127.0.0.1/1085,NONE,y ; 1002 is the new private node1002 = radio(a)192.168.10.96/1002,NONE,y In /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf on the new private node (same network), add lines: [nodes] ; 1085 is the new/added private node number for existing public node on same LAN1085 = radio(a)192.168.10.76/1085,NONE,y ; 1002 is this new private node 192.168.10.96 on LAN)1002 = radio(a)127.0.0.1/1002,NONE,y What if any additional context/extension or other parameters need to be setup in which file?? What else do the nodes need to know about each other to communicate and establish connection? What am I missing? I should be able to issue a connect from 1002 to 1085, and vice versa - yes?
