Adding public node setup to private node

Hey all, Quick question hopefully. I have 15 private nodes connecting to a hub, on one of the private nodes i want to add public Allstar access using a public node I have setup on allstarlink.org. I have added a section to rpt.conf for the public node, added it’s ip address in the nodes section. The private node and public node will be on the same raspberry pi. Ports and all that stuff are setup, the simpleusb/rf side works perfectly. I did not edit anything in the extensions.conf as radio-secure is using variables instead of hardcoded node numbers. I also did not edit anything in simpleusb.conf as the public side is set to use dahdi/pseudo. I also added the registration line and also enabled status reporting. I have the private node using a simplex setup, with one radio and one uri and using simpleusb.conf. I have the public node setup using dahdi/pseudo, I connect the public node to the hub and all seems well, the node shows up on allstarlink and is green, I can connect to it using the web transceiver. However no audio ever gets passed through in or out. Seems it doesn’t receive anything and never sends anything. Did I miss something? Do I need to add more details? I apologize for taking up bandwidth for something that has to be trivial. The acid box died some time ago and I finally installed 32bit dial on a new box. (ASL_1.01-20180228-amd64-i386-debian-stretch-netinst) I've made it through asl-menu initial step (repeater password, time zone, static ip etc) Now, I just want to download my node configuration from the portal. I've been unsuccessful in finding where that option/menu item is. I've found the backup/restore dialog but it has a node number of 1999 instead of asking for my allstarlink portal credentials. Is this 'function' still available or has it migrated to backup/restore function only? (you must setup your node, back it up to the allstarlink server, then you can restore it later) Thanks for your time list members and again, I apologize for the bandwidth. :) Chris KB0WLF

Significant Problem with ASL

Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz 6GB RAM 80GB HDD Previously ran with Centos 5 ACID. This box ran for 5 years, without issue. 1) MTR2000 UHF w/ URI 2) Remote Base CDM1250 VHF w/URI Upgraded to ASL from ACID ASL has been nothing but issues. First, what led me to the issues, COP,48 that we use for DTMF control, sounds "jittery" kind of like packet loss. But, it's local to a local transmitter. Second, linking two local nodes, on the same box, has significant "jittery symptoms", again, kind of like packet loss, on the same box. Third, linking to node 2560 Insomniac Net sounds like jittery mess. Jitter buffers are set exactly the same as they were on ACID. RPT.conf, same as ACID, extensions.conf same as ACID, usbradio.conf, same as ACID, you get the idea. Even to make sure, usb_tune file were still in check, I grabbed the service monitor and retuned usb_tune_XXX files. I am at a loss here. I have loaded 64 bit ASL first and then tried 32 bit ASL, no difference. Something is wrong. Anyone have the same symptoms? 73, Mike K0GUR

Connecting to other Nodes

Hello All; I’m having an issue configuring my mode. I’m using a Motorola Maxtrac radio with an USB-RIM 16 pin adapter connected to a raspberry pi with the ASL_1.01-20180228-armhf-raspbian-stretch-image. I have configured my setting into the software. I have tried to connect to other nodes but I’m unable to connect. Other nodes are able to connect to my node. When I do *70 on my node…it says “Node 47667 REPEAT ONLY”. Is this normal? Do I need to change something in my setup? The 16 pin connector on the Maxtrac is configure with pin 8 and 12 to PL/DPL CSQ Low. Does this need to be changed? Any help to help me change the configuration where I can connect to another node would be appreciated. Ecgolibk timeout setting

In echolink.conf is a line that sets the timeout setting for non-activity. I'm a hotshot driver and all over the country, at any given time. I'd like to disable the timer. Would a setting of 0 do that? Or, can I just comment that field out? Thanks. Geoff (aprs.fi/w5omr-14)

I'm at a loss. I upgraded my Dial system to the new All Star Link 1.0 and am have a few issues. When I try and run radio-tune-menu I get root@N2YP_Rogers_Knob:~# radio-tune-menu Error parsing device parameters I've read through past messages and checked that chan_usbradio was the active one in modules and that simple USB was set for no load. Also as of right now my nodes load with the URI's and sort of function as they are. Even when no radios are hooked up they lockup in "transmit" mode. I've tried rebooting the system and any other suggestions I could find with no luck. I've tried with both new and old conf files with no success. John Rudolph Amateur Radio Op N2YP Unadilla,NY
