REMOTE login issues with putty

Hello All I have been tryng to login in from remote to my Centos box with no luck using putty. I can login in on the keyboard with no problems.I have reinstalled and reburned serveral CD with no luck.I get the login prompt and use root and the password I used for keyboard ( KEYBOARD IS FINE ) access but it gives me ACCESS DENIED everytime from remote. Any help would be appreciated. I know the port routing is correct since I am getting the connect and login prompt. 73 e KB5NUR

How to configure non DSP on a URI

I am trying to help someone attach a node to a CAT controller and this is the first time EVER that I am not using DSP. Seems like we are having issues with COR and also RX audio. Since I have never used these inputs, we need some help. Here is a sample entry in the URD file and was hoping that someone might be able to supply a few tips. I am not using CTCSS so I said "no" and am using a logic high when no RX signal present, the CAT controller drags down to 0 volts upon signal detection on the repeater receiver. I am not getting any action when this happens though. I even tried to use "USBINVERT" but that had no effect. I see about 3 volts when idle. Any thoughts? RTCM bandwidth/ data throughput requirements?

Good Morning,Group! I am curious as to the bandwidth/data throughput requirements of the Allstar RTCM. I wish to use a dedicated microwave link that will permit up to 20Mbps. Would that work for the RTCM? Thank you! -Paul

Shortcuts in DTMF

Evening all, I have on my All-Star node some DTMF short-cuts and would like to add more. I have at the moment used the list below but would like to add 30 short-cuts in total as the older hams have a problem sending more than 2-3 characters so when asked to connect to an Echo link node 1234 its very difficult for the older hams to key *33001234. We have tried several times and with 1 attempt that work from almost 35 goes at this the poor old boy quote " It's a bit too much for me as I am 88 I struggle to see the buttons let alone press in any order" So if this is difficult I am happy to keep the list below and change it daily to suite the older hams having then a daily list of favourites in a weekly format so all 30 short-cuts can be achieved over a 4 week period. What flavor's for Asterisk has App_rpt that i can still use for my repeater with w DMK URI? I didn't know if elastix, etc would work . I tried Xipar but every time i get it going and make a change that is wong like adding a sip provider it just bomb's to the point its easier to re install the software. I am currently using ACID but would like to something with a graphical interface for the telephone stuff to add IVR's etc.. any thoughts? Thanks Bradley

Interfacing with a Vertex repeater.

Would it hurt the repeater to set up the computer box with a duplex=3 but still let the repeater do the repeating also. That way if the computer dies the repeater keeps working? didn't know if it would hurt the repeater since the URI would be trying to inject audio the same time the repeater was doing it also.. anyone have any guidance on where/how to find the interface sigs on a uhf mid power batwing spectra and rss stuff to get to work as a simplex node in asterisk. just brought up my 900 msf5k on the system, but off the net for now (waiting for a clinb to put up the ubiquity 5.8 link back to the house)...thought of standing up a quick rf link for now. back to our regularly scheduled program...:) -- Bryan Sent from my iPhone 5...small keyboard, big fingers...please forgive misspellings...

As a result, I am cautious to to connect to some repeaters because they don't reveal their network connections. Nevertheless, amateur radio is a BIG hobby. You are welcome to your corner of it while I occupy mine. :) I will smile at you in person and by email. :) 3. The American Radio Relay League is the biggest US ship sailing the Amateur Radio Sea. The Radio Society of Great Britain and Radio Amateurs of Canada offer similar services in their countries. The ARRL has been a strong proponent of new technology, ex. article on Page 92 of November 2013 QST addressing remote base, i.e. remotehams.com use for DXCC operations, use of Echolink to send Morse Code practice http://www.arrl.org/echolink-irlp so those without HF stations can still participate, etc. If you are not a LEAGUE member, you are letting the membership set the direction of amateur radio for you. I feel the ARRL membership is worth the attorney at the Washington, DC office and the radio insurance that covers my cellphone because, after all, it IS a "radio device" that I can use to talk to people on AllstarLink, Echolink, APRS, and IRLP.
