you ll need 2 allstar nodes on one server. once you have your irlp node attached to one of those nodes, you call the "irlp, allstar node" and place it in command mode. with a few rpt.conf changes the dtmf will be able to dial out on irlp. when you actually get the hardware setup, drop a note on this site. myself or other Allstarians will be glad to help out. I don't know the device but if it has a CM108 or CM119 chip it will. Personally, I use startech sound fobs. They're easily modifiable using surface mount components and they're reliable. URI's are very good, but have my eye on the RIM as it has advantages over the URI. Thanks Paul I am using a URIx on my VMWare Player system. I am able to command the node from the CLI screen. I've had it connected to the WIN system reflector for several days. In fact, when you waved a hand to me the other day, I was talking to you from the node on the VMWare Player system. The audio seems fine. But now that you say something, I do notice a small artifact of very slightly chopped audio when the node transmits. I attributed it to my internet connection. I'll have to do more listening. I'm using a Motorola P110 UHF portable for a node radio. I removed the radio from its case and put it into a cast aluminum box for additional heat-sinking. I also have a Dell D600 laptop that only runs Asterisk. I'll move the URIx and P110 to that node and reset the levels. Then Ill see if I can hear the audio choppiness. I don't have to use any special codes to see the decoded digits. In the CLI screen, it shows the digits as they are received and decoded. It shows digit and the length of the digit. Hello to the group I am trying to get the computer on line while my interface is shipped I downloaded the ISO off the website , followed the prompts , I am not at a prompt Test > I did not enter a root password as I was not asked I can't find a PDF or anything on 1st time installs Any help would be great Thanks Richard Szajkowski va3rzs

Does asterisk support a playlist? I want to play random announcements out on the repeater, and those linked, at various times of the day. These files do not have to play in any order (and, they'd get old and predictable, anyway). The easiest way, I think, would be a playlist, then set a crontab for the command. Is there a way to implement such a command as: $> asterisk -rx "rpt playback [node] path/to/filename.pl" ?? How would you do something like this? -Geoff/W5OMR

Greetings: Is app_rpt capable of being configured for tone remote signalling? If so, how do I set that up? I am going to interface to a MASTR III that is connected to other tone remotes also. I'm setting up to drive an external tone panel right now but it strikes me that this really shouldn't be necessary since the control tones could be generated and mixed within app_rpt. 73 DE Thor Operator of N7JCT
