Hello Pete,I designed a 3rd party IRLP board a few years ago, and published the designs on my web site:http://www.qsl.net/k0kn/plri.htmlI am using two of these on app_rpt with good results. The hardware DTMF decoder is not supported by app_rpt however.I'm not sure how app_rpt would handle using one parallel port for multiple nodes though. I've not tried to define parallel port pins for more than one node on a server. My parallel port definitions from usbradio.conf:; IRLP board supportpp3 = ptt ; out0, out1 or ptt; pp10 = in ; in, cor or ctcss; pp12 = in ; pins 10,12,13,15 are for DTMF; pp13 = in ; pp15 = in pp11 = cor; pp4 = out0 ; pins 4,5,6 are AUX 1,2,3, default off; pp5 = out0 ; pp6 = out0 73..KyleK0KN--- Original Message ---Hi All, Is there a circuit board design for running COS/PTT for multiple radios off the parallel port? Node not showing up on active list

Hello group, An odd thing happened a few days ago. One of my 6 nodes no longer appears on the Allstar active nodes list http://stats.allstarlink.org/ Nothing has changed on my end. I've made sure that the stanza for node status reporting is uncommented in rpt.conf. This server is running 3 nodes, 2210-2212 and 2210,2212 show up. The node reporting stanzas are identical on all 3 nodes. I can use 2211 as before, it will successfully connect to other stations, etc, but does not display correctly if connected to another station. For example, I connected 2211 to my node 2215. Node 2211 appears to be a non-standard node. See URL: http://stats.allstarlink.org/nodeinfo.cgi?node=2215 Any ideas? I'm stumped. Thanks. 73 Kyle K0KN

Hi All, Is there a circuit board design for running COS/PTT for multiple radios off the parallel port? It would make using consumer FOBs much simpler. It would need some PTT drivers and COS buffers. I thought there might be a cactus board or 3rd party IRLP board that may already in circulation. Pete

permanent echolink connection

I've been asked by a group who's thinking of linking a couple machines...and was considering using Asterisk for one radio, whether it is possible to connect, on a full-time basis, an asterisk node on one radio to an echolink node that lives on a second repeater. For instance...Repeater Allstar node A <--> Echolink node on Repeater B I realize that they could change out the Echolink to a asterisk and permlink the two, but, they're a bit nonplussed with the lag between end users logging into echo and the database download. Yeah, whiny users, but what can you do? Looked through the mailing list archives....basically, I'm thinking, almost like a permlink between two app_rpt boxen. Am I missing something here? I had similar results with my P3/866, but I was hoping that a faster processor might help to eliminate the occasional "stumble" I've noticed with Allstar. Especially at the beginning of telemetry or user audio, the audio will sometimes glitch. It occasionally happens with user audio also. I've not noticed that before when I ran an IRLP or EchoIRLP system. I'm not sure if it's a USB-related phenomenon, since my previous systems have used analog sound cards, rather than USB fobs. If nodes with faster processors also have that issue, then I won't spend any more time or energy trying to upgrade my PC, or change to simpleusb, etc. I'll just live with it. I figured that if the Simpleusb would be less processor-hungry, maybe that would minimize the glitches? 73. 900 Mhz Stuff

I was going thru a bunch of stuff I have in storage and found a box containing 10 900Mhz 350 W 2 stage circulators and 3 or 4 900Mhz duplexers and 4 or 5 900Mhz Larsen NMO mount mobile 900Mhz antennas. I think I also have a Spectra on 900Mhz somewhere also. I would like to sell this stuff, if anyone is interested. JIM WB6NIL \

OK so do I have it correct? chan_simpleusb * Does not do carrier detect (via DSP noise detection) must use COR logic. * Does not do CTSCC Decode (obviously). * DTMF is handled by Zaptel so we still decode DTMF in asterisk. * encode functions are same as before? * enabling/using it is by simply specifyinfg it in rpt.conf rxchannel = SimpleUSB/usb and the presense and setup of simpleusb.conf Thanks! I played around with this a little bit today... Seems like you have to use: rxchannel = Simpleusb/usb rather than: rxchannel = SimpleUSB/usb. I could be wrong, but it also seems that the parallel port support isn't included in simpleusb? I did observe a substantial decrease in processor usage.
