Remote Base

I've been taught that in a simulcast system we cannot use an external controller. In our case an Arcom RC-210. It has crossed our mind that that if we use a remote base with a RC-210 attached to it we can link in our weather receiver, our earthquake detector, and satellite receivers located in fringe areas for HT access. This would be just like any mobile accessing the system except that it would be passing audio from external devices. Is this a doable workaround? Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Is there a neophyte editor in the acid release? This is not for me, I use Vi but I am installing systems for a couple of guys who I would not trust with Vi. Any way to make the above work? Would like to have 2 repeaters controlled by 1 computer have 2 separate auto patches. So when repeater A does a *6 it only brings up the auto patch on Repeater A .. and Repeater B the same way.. Thoughts? Bradley kc9gqr/k9wra 28079 and 28295

RTCM use in Off-line/fail-over mode

I understand that when the RTCM goes into fail-over / off-line mode and it becomes a simple repeater, and that all the local repeater audio delay goes away(confirmed), Is their a way to use the RTCM in this mode and not be "off-line" ? So we have the system behave normally (not off-line) but with no local repeater audio delay?(easier to duplex with no delay) I have been looking through the archives to find the thread as I was advised that this modification can / has been be done and it's in the archives somewhere, I just cant find it Or have I been miss informed? Fired off my modest support to the Allstar link. At this time of the holiday season...if you haven't...why haven't you? Surely there's a few ducats left...think of how much it means to have a great system like this, software improvements, and all the background processing and support equipment that needs be in place. It's not free. We all run repeaters. We know how much it costs. But, in the end, Allstar is free to us to use, whine about, brag about...so...throw some in the kettle so 1) Jim can help keep the lights on, and 2) just to show some appreciation.
