Thanks Paul I am using a URIx on my VMWare Player system. I am able to command the node from the CLI screen. I've had it connected to the WIN system reflector for several days. In fact, when you waved a hand to me the other day, I was talking to you from the node on the VMWare Player system. The audio seems fine. But now that you say something, I do notice a small artifact of very slightly chopped audio when the node transmits. I attributed it to my internet connection. I'll have to do more listening. I'm using a Motorola P110 UHF portable for a node radio. I removed the radio from its case and put it into a cast aluminum box for additional heat-sinking. I also have a Dell D600 laptop that only runs Asterisk. I'll move the URIx and P110 to that node and reset the levels. Then Ill see if I can hear the audio choppiness. I don't have to use any special codes to see the decoded digits. In the CLI screen, it shows the digits as they are received and decoded. It shows digit and the length of the digit. playing audio files

Does asterisk support a playlist? I want to play random announcements out on the repeater, and those linked, at various times of the day. These files do not have to play in any order (and, they'd get old and predictable, anyway). The easiest way, I think, would be a playlist, then set a crontab for the command. Is there a way to implement such a command as: $> asterisk -rx "rpt playback [node] path/to/filename.pl" ?? How would you do something like this? -Geoff/W5OMR

Greetings: Is app_rpt capable of being configured for tone remote signalling? If so, how do I set that up? I am going to interface to a MASTR III that is connected to other tone remotes also. I'm setting up to drive an external tone panel right now but it strikes me that this really shouldn't be necessary since the control tones could be generated and mixed within app_rpt. 73 DE Thor Operator of N7JCT

GPS issues?

Has anyone else noticed any issues with GPS today? It seems that both of my repeaters that are using voters are having odd issues today. They sound like they have timing jitter. I have tried rebooting everything and no change. Both systems sound so bad that they are unusable. I cleared menu item 2 on both repeaters transmit sites to force them to run stand alone and they sound fine. As soon as I put them back to using the servers, they sound bad again. Networks all test as fine, ping times from 7 to 27 ms, no packet loss. All GPS's lock quickly on restart. I have been troubleshooting it for a few hours and now I am going to take a break and just let them run stand alone for a while. Just wondering if anyone else using voters is having an issue like this today??? Did the government shut down GPS ground control and they are just drifting?? Crazy I know. But it is the government. Transmit audio delay

Greetings: I'm looking for the setting that controls the transmit audio buffer prior to PTT. What I'm experiencing is that I am sometimes missing the first syllable or so because the radios haven't had time to "come up to speed" before the audio is being delivered. I need to adjust (increase) the delay between when PTT is issued and when transmit audio is sent to the radio. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks & 73 Thor Operator of N7JCT
