A problem I am having

I am brand new to this and have been reading to see if I can find a solution to the problem I am having. I purchased a URI and installed it with no problems. I set up the computer using acid and it accepted the node and server info and seems to come on line fine. When I connect using allstar it connects to the radio and announces it I am connected. When I use the computer microphone I can hear it come out on the radio fine. BUT when I go to listen there is no audio coming back over the link from the radio. I checked with a scope to be sure I had audio and I do. I ran the radio adjustments for rxnoise and rx voice and it said everything was successful. It did have me adjust the squelch higher though. I made sure to open the 2 ports ssh and the udp so I don’t think it is a port issue on the router. I am sure it is something simple but I am not sure where to look next. Any helpful suggestions for a beginner would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

Decoding DTMF

I am trying to setup a new node on a 64bit PC Most of the DTMF tones will not decode while running Asterisk -r I was able to get to a point where all except DTMF 3 would decode does not seem to work now only 5, 6, 0, *, # seem to work I have tweaked the rx settings and a few others, this just does not add up. If I dial in via phone allstar telephone portal it decodes with 0 issues. Everything was working with the same repeater/controller/URI/radio with a similar config on a 32bit computer, I can't imagine that should make any difference but I am slo running 3 nodes (1) URI for now... I have changed the rxmixerset from 6 to 900 and 800 , 700 etc Other diff is I used simpleusb-tune-menu on the 32bit computer but on the 64 I get the error "Error parsing device parameters" so I used the std radio-tune-menu. Anyone have ideas? Attached are conf files...

I don't specifically add my Allstar activity to logwatch, but several of my scripts report to /var/log/asterisk/connectlog. You could always use logrotate, and add a cron to email yourself the day's log. Another option might be to use my email_status script, and modify it to email once per day, rather than on each connect/disconnect. My scripts can all be found here: www.qsl.net/k0kn/scripts.html Personally, I like to have email_status send an email to my cell phone's "text" address, so I get a text message on connects and disconnects. Some folks don't have unlimited texting, and use email instead. You can also enable inbound control of your Allstar node via text or email. I find that useful for non-critical control of my nodes. Here's what the "standard" output looks like. Steve, I was wondering if you could help me with some settings for the kenwood tkr-750. I'm having problems with the squelch during the audio testing. What setting did you have on yours? I'm pretty new to the uri and allstar. If you could tell me what you had for your setting, that would be a big help. Setup Asterisk PBX inbound calls with local phone number?

Question to the group: I would like to explore setting up the Asterisk PBX similar to the Allstar dial in service. I have setup a fly number account and now have a dialup access number for my city. I have been reading on http://www.flynumber.com/asterisk-pbx-configuration that I need to modify the sip.conf and iax.conf. I would like to use the PBX for inbound calls only, and have it pass calls to the repeater and also to just a telephone for those who wish to reach me without going to the repeater allstar node. My question is, anyone else doing this? Is it possible? Thanks, Dan, va3ark

Here is a clip about PIN 4 in the Accessory plug of a GM300. 4 Programmable Output Only This is a radio output port. It is an open collector output which saturates to A+ supply when active. It is normally used to drive an external relay or sense lead. It duplicates the function of J3-3 of the five pin logic board. When active it can source a maximum current of 250 mA. The pin has a 10 K ohm resistor pull-down to ground on the logic board. and uses a PNP transistor to switch it up to 12V. This pin does not work as an active low pin (i.e. pulling something to ground), only as an active high (that is dragging something up to +12v). If you want an active high output to drive a reed relay which has the other side of the coil to ground, this is your pin (but don't forget to check that the backwards diode is present on the coil pins). RTCM COR CTCSS decode issues

I have just installed a GM300 for my transceiver and I configured it to put out TPL /DPL det on the accessory plug. Signal looks OK about 2.59 volts for low and 13.5 volts for HI. I can see this change correctly when I use TPL or when I don't. I set RTCM menu item line 12 external CTCSS to non-inverted. line13 External COR to 0 normal. The problem is audio passes into the system no matter if it has tpl tone on the incoming carrier or not. I can see the top green light (RX) on the RTCM module no matter if the carrier coming in has tone or not. I'm out of ideas on how to fix this. I want the RTCM to respond to the incoming CTCSS control line from the GM300. Any ideas on what is happening here?????
